We do! “They spoke” as “the Spirit gave the utterance.” We have complete control. Holy Spirit always wants to speak through us and to us in tongues – we simply tap in at any given time.

Neurocase has in the past published some rather dubious religious-experience EEG data; in that case, I’m pretty sure the ‘temporal lobe spikes’ were just a recording artefact. This time around, it looks real enough. they spake (their brain was as normally engaged as usual) as the Spirit gave the utterance. I don’t believe any electronic scanning would detect Holy Spirit utterances. Christian Scientist may think so. Scientology would say so.

Acts 2: 4 And they were all filled with The Holy Spirit , and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. ( I guess that must be the on I was referring to. But I thought there was one that said it like the first one I wrote down. But Acts 2:4 , says the same thing. ).
