| PentecostalTheology.comTHE HIGH FIVE – GOD REJOICES OVER HIS CHILDREN
Ray E Horton
I had a neat experience with the Lord in prayer this morning after I took communion. The joy of the Lord is something I have often seen as more doctrinal truth than experience. We have the joy of the Lord, whether we feel it or not, because we have the fruit of the spirit. Yes, there is that inner joy beyond our feelings of knowing that He is with us and is bigger than every circumstance.
God rejoiced over my prayer
Not saying that I saw clearly the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and what they looked like – It was just an inner sense
But, this morning, as I was praying and asking for wisdom for life to draw on all that He has already put within me for life and godliness, the picture suddenly came to mind of the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit rejoicing over my prayer, actually laughing and giving each other high-fives.
The thought was so neat that I actually burst out laughing myself, and I felt such a wonderful joy.
We don’t depend on feelings from the Lord, but they can be so wonderful and motivating when they happen. Not saying that I saw clearly the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and what they looked like. It was just an inner sense, but so good. I share this as an encouragement to others, hoping it won’t come across to you as too weird.
“The Lord your God is in your midst, a Mighty One, who will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will renew you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing” (Zephaniah 3:17).
