Eskimos have I think 40 words for snow. we have at two words. Cold and bitter cold. In the army we called a cold wind “the hawk” but however you slice it it’s not safe. But I think in some places maybe they don’t have to trust God for heat and the love of God to warm the heart and soul. So God is able to redeem the struggles of men.

I’ll give a good illustration might help understand the necessity of faith for salvation.
Up here a man will freeze to death pretty quick. If a man gets lost in the wilderness he knows he’ll die with out heat. If a man is in the woods and night begins to fall he is doomed without a fire.
What does he do? He looks for dry tinder. He looks for kindling and even more substantial wood that will keep him through the cold night or he will perish. He finds a place out of the wind. He gathers his material. He gets on his knees and prays for a spark something to get the hint of a fire started. If he gets a spark he cherishes and protects that flame. Slowly nurturing and building that fire.
So it is with with the precious promises of God to receive and deliver us from this present evil age. And the deceitfulness of sin. It’s cold and death.
