I don’t know if the new “Kingdom of the Cults” has a section on it, but I had one called “Understanding Non-Christian Religions” that had good information. Possibly Ravi Zacharas’ “Jesus Among Other Gods”.
Go to an Islamic Cultural Center in your city and inquire about an introductory class about Islam in English. I did this and found it refreshing and informative. It was not done in a doctrinal manner to persuade but to inform.
The courtesy extended to me was overwhelming and perhaps you might find it helpful.
Our Christian resources are based in a bias toward all other religions and you are not going to learn the truth.
We must go beyond proselyting and seek understanding of other religions.
All other revelations other than the bible are false. Why would you want to read them? The Bible clearly says that it is the sole source of our knowledge about the one true living God. It is the only written revelation that He has given humanity.
Muslims don’t encourage Mt Ararat exploration because the Quran denies that the mount is the location of Noah’s ark “why waste your time looking for something that scripture is not there.
I took a course on Shi’i Islam from UGA in the early ’90s and learned from lectures mainly. I picked pabit of knowledge from three uarters of Arabic. I have also learned some useful things from missionaries. I did read Bridges of Gid. It was kind of light. The guy is probably higher on the C scale than I am comfortable with.
Just saying I cant think of one. I read Building Briges but I did not thinknit was awesome. I have a homemade Indonesian language compilation of what the AQ says about Jesus and the Bible somewhere but it is not in Englishm
The books by Karen Armstrong on Islam are easy to read and good beginners’ guides.
However, just as a good book on Christianity is not as good as a good example of a living Chrisitian. So too is the same with Muslims and Islam. Decent Muslims to look into, include Hamza Yusuf, Zaid Shakir and Dr Timothy James Winter.
