Bill Stockham | PentecostalTheology.com“So David and his men went up to Baal Perazim, and there he defeated them. He said, “As waters break out, GOD HAS BROKEN OUT AGAINST MY ENEMIES by my hand.” So that place was called Baal Perazim.” (1 Chron. 14:11) [We know that a “Breakthrough” suggests something that GOES BEYOND WHAT WE HAVE PLANNED or could achieve on our own. “Breakthrough” also signifies a vibrant display of God’s power that moves us BEYOND ALL EXPECTATIONS, goals, and obstacles to fulfill His calling, vision, and plan for us. This “Breakthrough” is seen in David’s life where he said, “God has broken through my enemies by my hand, like a bursting flood. Therefore the name of that place is called Baal-perazim.” Some translate this name, “THE PLACE. . . OF THE LORD OF THE BREAKTHROUGH!”] “The Philistines had abandoned their gods there, and David gave orders to BURN THEM IN THE FIRE.” (1 Chron. 14:12) [This is exactly what should happen to anything that we have in our possession that is from the devil!] “Once more the Philistines raided the valley; so David inquired of God again, AND GOD ANSWERED HIM, “Do not go directly after them, but circle around them and attack them in front of the poplar trees. As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the poplar trees, move out to battle, because that will mean GOD HAS GONE OUT IN FRONT OF YOU to strike the Philistine army.” (1 Chron. 14:13-15) [This was a normal part of prayer that we see very frequently in the Bible, man prays AND GOD ANSWERS! Unfortunately the devil has deceived us into thinking that God no longer speaks to us, but that is a lie and we need to “breakthrough” and LISTEN FOR the voice of the Lord once again!] “The person who has My commands and keeps them is the one who [really] loves Me; and whoever [really] loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I [too] will love him and will show (reveal, manifest) Myself to him. [I will let Myself BE CLEARLY SEEN BY HIM and MAKE MYSELF REAL TO HIM.]” (John 14:21AMP) [Why would Jesus want to reveal Himself to us? We are family and how does family communicate? By meeting face-to-face and talking!] “…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and SEEK MY FACE…” (2 Chron. 7:14) [Intimacy requires face-to-face encounters!] “You have said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “YOUR FACE, LORD, DO I SEEK.” (Psa. 27:8)
Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that WE MUST HUMBLE OURSELVES AND PRAY AND SEEK OUR ABBA FATHER’S FACE!
