I went and read a few posts on that original thread…. and saw again some of that false doctrine I had to sit and sweat under for a few years in the 90’s. They take Scripture out of context and misapply it so badly!
For instance, when Jesus made himself poor so that we could be made rich. That verse, read in context, tells us to be like Jesus! To have the same GRACE toward our brethren. That just as Jesus was willing to be made poor, to make us rich, even so we should be willing to give, to enrich others! “That there may be equality!” Paul says.
And smh… really? Quoting Elihu in the book of Job, to find a verse to say that if we serve God, we shall spend our years in prosperity and pleasure? (Job 36:10.) I think someone forgot that God said Elihu was wrong!

Jesus’ Seamless Robe Proof that He was RICH? Is this ludicrous? Someone on TBN (John Hagee) was preaching along those lines. — This type of garment could be made by an ordinary weaver, so it need not have been expensive.
