| PentecostalTheology.comYou triuners, answer these. I’m interested to see your answers.
1. If Jesus (God the Son) was eternally and physically present with God the Father since the beginning of time, how did God send him down to earth to become the begotten Son of Mary? Where did the body of Jesus go for the gestation period? Did He disappear to become an embryo? Were there only two members of The Trinity in operation during this period?
2. If God the Son existed eternally and physically with God the Father before time began, they obviously were related. How did they become Father and Son? How did a son exist without a mother? And how was God the Holy Spirit related to them?
3. Where did you get the terms, “God the Son” and “God the Holy Spirit”? Any Scripture reference?
4. What is the name of The Father? What is the name of The Holy Spirit? Why is it that those who accuse Oneness believers of being “Jesus only”, can ONLY come up with one name – Jesus?
5. If the commission by Jesus in Matthew 28:19 was to baptize all nations in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, why did the Apostles (who had their minds opened to understand all scriptures Luke 24: 45) proceed to baptize every New Testament Church convert in the name of Jesus Christ? ( See Acts 2: 38; 8: 16; 10: 48; 19: 5; 22: 16; Rom. 6: 3; 1 Cor. 1:13)
a. Water baptism in Jesus’ name: Is it from God or is it from men? (If from God, have YOU been baptized in Jesus’ name, and do you teach it? If from men, please explain why God approved of it being the only mode of baptism recorded in The New Testament Church)
b. Do you believe that Peter and Paul were in error by baptizing in the name of Jesus Christ?
c. If “Heresy” means departing from established church dogma, who has actually departed from the established baptismal formula?
6. The word, “trinity”, in and of itself, means “a group of three”. Could we, in essence, then call God “The Holy Three”? Would this not be in direct opposition to The Holy ONE of Israel? Before you write that off as blasphemy, what would be the difference between Holy Trinity and Holy Three?
7. Why didn’t God the Father ever introduce “God the Son” or “God the Holy Spirit” to His people? Why did He not tell them to teach their children about One God in three persons?
8. Why didn’t the Apostles, who had their minds opened that they might understand the scriptures (Luke 24: 45; Matt. 16: 19), or Paul, who received his revelation straight from God (Acts 9: 5; Gal. 1: 11,12), ever tell us that God existed in three persons? I challenge you to look up “The origin of The Trinity” in any credible, historical resource.
9. How many Spirits live inside of you? The Spirit of The Father? (Romans 8: 11) The Holy Spirit? (Acts 2: 38) The Spirit of Christ? (Romans 8: 9)
10. What is the difference between 3 Gods, and 3 persons? Do you pray to and praise three separate and distinct persons, each called God; each being fully God apart from the other? Each with three distinct personalities, wills, roles and intellects? Do you call each one of the three persons, “God”?
11. If God the Father and God the Holy Spirit are two different persons, then who really is the Father of Jesus Christ? Check out these two passages:
Luke 1: 35 “…The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”
Matthew 1: 20 “…for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.”
12. Jesus is called the image of the invisible God. (Col. 1: 15) How are you going to see more than one “person” if God is invisible, and the Holy Spirit is a Spirit? John, the only person recorded in scripture to get a glimpse of the throne room, saw only ONE throne and ONE sitting on it.(Rev. 4:2)
13. If the three persons in the Godhead are co-equal, co-eternal, and co-existent, why is it that Salvation can only be found in Jesus Christ? (Acts 4: 12)

Question 1 contains some messed-up assumptions. Who believes that Jesus had a physical human body–or something similar– before His birth? That’s not a mainstream belief. Not all of use are Dake Bible fans.
I say stuff. My words don’t have a physical human body.
Peyton Gurley [10/19/2015 7:27 PM]
So what was Jesus before He was born?
Peyton Gurley [10/19/2015 7:30 PM]
But it is a ligitimate question. It isn’t messed up to us Oneness people.
Link Hudson [10/19/2015 7:31 PM]
Peyton Gurley, read John 1. In the beginning was the Word. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
Peyton Gurley [10/19/2015 7:33 PM]
What was Jesus before He became flesh? I know John 1. Apparently it doesn’t answer the question for me
Corey Forsyth [10/19/2015 7:38 PM]
I am commenting at this point for no other reason than to follow… This has been an…interesting… topic of thought, study, consideration, and debate for quite a few years… I can’t wait to read all that is undoubtedly coming. 🙂
Charles Page [10/19/2015 7:38 PM]
What was Jesus… WHO was Jesus before he was incarnated? He was the Word, with personality traits. As Word he was eternal.
Peyton Gurley [10/19/2015 7:42 PM]
So Jesus was a word?
Peyton Gurley [10/19/2015 7:43 PM]
So 3 can be 1 and Jesus is a word. Ok.
Charles Page [10/19/2015 7:43 PM]
That is what JWs say, NO, He was THE wORD!
Ricky Grimsley [10/19/2015 7:49 PM]
Exodus 15:3 KJVS
[3] The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name.
Joshua 5:14 KJVS
[14] And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?
Sounds like jesus can dress for war and kick butt. Dont you need a body for that?
Peyton Gurley [10/19/2015 7:56 PM]
God is the Word and became flesh. So what about the rest of the questions?
Charles Page [10/19/2015 7:58 PM]
endless question!!!
Charles Page [10/19/2015 7:59 PM]
what if the sun doesn’t rise in the morning?
Terry Wiles [10/19/2015 8:01 PM]
“Let us create man in our image.” Case closed!
Ricky Grimsley [10/19/2015 8:25 PM]
What i want to know is….who is the father? Mary was found with child of the holy ghost? Jesus is called the everlasting father? But neither of those is the actual father? So help me out here?
Patrick Conley [10/19/2015 8:27 PM]
Peyton Gurley, if you are provided with logical, sciptural answers will you reject oneness theology as heresy, disfellowship your church body, and join a congregation that believes in the Trinity?
Patrick Conley [10/19/2015 9:10 PM]
Peyton Gurley I believe you have deleted my comment, so I ask again, if you are given scriptural, logical answers will you denounce oneness doctrine as heresy, cease fellowship with oneness churches and join a Trinity teaching congregation? Don’t delete, answer…
Peyton Gurley [10/19/2015 9:12 PM]
I didn’t delete it lol I saw it. There isn’t any scripture to support the trinity.
Patrick Conley [10/19/2015 9:27 PM]
You didn’t answer my question. If such answers are provided are you prepared to declare oneness theology heresy, change churches, etc?
Ricky Grimsley [10/19/2015 9:35 PM]
How about this?
1 John 2:23 KJVS
[23] Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also .
What does that mean?
Corey Forsyth [10/19/2015 9:40 PM]
So my question is, how is this so cut and dry for everyone? What I see in scripture is essentially “divided unity.” Using one or two verses to “prove” one side or another seems overly ambitious. This is more topic than can be solved in a few posts on Facebook. My question is simply trying to connect the dots. If God is God, Jesus is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, why is there so much plurality? “Let US create man in OUR image, Jesus’ baptism presents 3 united forms interacting separately yet completely united, Jesus praying to the Father in the garden and while on the cross, etc. I am torn on the issue and I am searching for where the truth of it lies. What I believe so far is that there is more to it than slinging one or two verses and leaving it at that. Not even the apostles could agree without some genuine discussion (*not fighting):-)
Ricky Grimsley [10/19/2015 9:42 PM]
The godhead is like man. Three but one. Body, soul, spirit, one person.
Drew Banacos [10/19/2015 11:12 PM]
Question 1 is ridiculous; you must also answer it because if God (the Father) became a fetus, you would have to explain how such a thing occurred. Matthew 1:18 says that Mary conceived Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. To ask how God could “bring Jesus down” to be conceived by Mary is to question the power of God. Jesus did not have a body before the incarnation so it did not need to go anywhere. The Word became flesh (that is, at a point in time he became human and therefore a human body is included in that). The Son was still operating as the one sent by the Father to inaugurate the kingdom of God. We know the Spirit was operating because the Spirit was the means by which Mary conceived Jesus. The Father sends the Son into the world in order that those who believe will be saved (John 3:16).
Nick Schultz [10/20/2015 12:04 AM]
Peyton, you know we disagree on this but I admire your willingness to pull the pin and roll the grenade.
