TIME FOR PRAYER AND FASTING

Did you know that prayer and fasting is one of the most powerful spiritual combinations we can do? True fasting brings humility and alignment with God. It helps breaks the power of flesh and the devil’s influence on our lives. IT DESTROYS UNBELIEF AND BRINGS ANSWERS TO PRAYER WHEN NOTHING ELSE WORKS. We must know that prayer is not the groundwork for the battle – PRAYER IS THE BATTLE. And of all the things we can do to heighten the power and focus of prayer, fasting is doubtless the most powerful. Fasting puts us in harmony with our Abba Father who stresses humility from those who wish to be close to Him. Fasting helps to humble the flesh. When it is done for that purpose, it pleases the Spirit of God.

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may LIFT YOU UP IN DUE TIME. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Pet. 5:5-7) [Daniel was one of many who exercised prayer and fasting:] “And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes.” (Dan. 9:3) [After this time of prayer the bible says:] “Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man [angel] Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.” (Dan. 9:21-22)
