Charles Page | PentecostalTheology.comThis is Holly Springs Baptist Church where the Spurling family held membership and RG Spurling, Sr. was an ordained elder. As an ordained elder he exercised the authority to ordain his son R G Spurling, Jr to pastor the first COG church not yet called COG but was a church at Coker Creek.
I visited this small mountain Baptist church and it was just like an old fashion COG service with a Declaration of Faith (Baptist Faith) on the back wall behind the choir loft. The order of the Sunday morning service was like the order of service I grew up in my hometown COG. They sang from Red Back Hymnals.
If you ever get an opportunity go and visit this church.
