The scandal of the American church is that that it is a huge majority in the country, and yet it has less cultural influence than tiny groups. The transgenders are less than 1% in America, the LGBT are less than 2-3% in America, and yet they have far more cultural influence than the church does. Shame on us. We’re not salty and light-bearing, and we need to cry out to the Lord for revival and reformation among His people, starting with each of us.

Yes! ” We’re not salty and light-bearing, and we need to cry out to the Lord for revival and reformation among His people, starting with each of us.” Much of the church i complacent and self-centered and can’t be bothered. Then there are those who are so super-spiritual that they think we shouldn’t get involved with the issues of this world. A new great awakening in the church is imperative, and I believe it is coming.

That is really sad, isn’t it. How can we be more influential in society? If we try to be more influential, will posters in Pentecotal Theology forums accuse us of being post-mil or kingdom now?

I was thinking of a restaurant that serves LGBTs, Lettuce, Guacamole, Bacon, and Tomato sandwiches.

The problem is that the vast majority of professing Christians do not live what the Bible says and use being “under grace” as an excuse for their carnality. Therefore, they lose their saltiness because their lifestyle choices are no different from the unbelieving.

Yes our church has become less influential on real world matters. We as whole have became weak among the wickedness. But to be stronger, people need to start with the image staring back at them, from within a mirror. The truths of what is acceptable to God is no longer being told/ preached from most pulpits. I miss the Fire and Brimstone sermons. Bring back TRUE tent revivals, they do make a difference. We need to show love, but also the truths of the teachings.

I still preach the whole word at my church. Unfortunately there seem to be few that wish to hear it.

There is so much pressure on Pastors to not do anything that “offends” anybody. Last time I checked, the Gospel in itself is called a “rock of offense”. If I have to choose between preaching the whole truth that leads to salvation or having a big crowd, I would choose the latter. It doesn’t take a lot of people preaching and living the truth under the power of the Holy Spirit to have an impact on the world.

Acts 5:28 KJV — Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, YE HAVE FILLED Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.
It was said they FILLED THE CITY with the PREACHING of JESUS CHRIST. The SAVIOUR
I recently visited a church outreach. Two city streets. Two football fields in length, Lots of food, games, magic, face painting, toys, tattoos, raffles, free Bibles and an empty prayer tent, no christian music, nothing,
I asked a Christian worker, “will there be any gospel preaching?” The answer was , “no, if they want to hear preaching let them come on Sunday morning.”
    800? maybe a thousand souls?
I went somewhere else and gave it a try. No turkey, no free nothing, only a rugged cross and a living hope. Maybe they were more effective
