| PentecostalTheology.comGOD’S GLORY DWELLS WITHIN YOU – Ray E Horton
God’s glory dwells within you, with your spirit perfected as a New Creation and united with Christ when you were Born Again. As our eyes are opened to this truth and we apply God’s Word to ourselves, as a mirror, we discover that glory within and who we are in Christ.
Where do we see God’s glory?
God’s glory can be seen in creation and everywhere, but most beautifully within our own spirits that are united with Him
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord…” (2 Cor. 3:18a). Where do we see His glory? ” Within ourselves, “as in a mirror.”
It is then that we are transformed from glory to glory, and our souls (mind, will and emotions) become gradually more and more like our perfected spirits. We are “…being transformed into that same image from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Cor. 3:18b). We do the “beholding,” looking, renewing our minds, and the Holy Spirit does the transforming in our daily lives.
Let us cooperate with that revelation, renewing our minds to the promises of God’s Word, hastening the process. And one day, upon graduation to the other side, even our bodies will be glorified, and He can then present us blameless, spirit, soul and body. Meanwhile, we have the down payment, our seal, the promised Holy Spirit.
Joined to Christ
This is such a life transforming message because it explains how we have been perfected and delivered from sin, yet sometimes fall into sin – a source of confusion for so many. It takes into account our tripartite being, spirit, soul and body. Our spirit is our identity, and it cannot sin – it is joined to Christ.
Knowing this gives us the confidence to stand strong against the lies and accusations of the enemy when we do miss the mark (because our souls are still in process). We can simply, like Jesus, say “It is written,” knowing that we have been redeemed and delivered from the curse of the law. We need no longer wallow in sin, but simply turn back to the Lord (repent) and move on in Him.
