The Church of God Evangel reported the interpretation of a gift of tongues by Dovie Williams at the general assembly. The Holy Spirit placed His blessing upon A. J. Tonlinson as General Overseer of the Church of God.

This is no way to choose leadership

Mike Stidham [03/07/2016 2:00 AM]
It seemed to work out well for Barnabas and Saul. Granted, it was a bit more direct in their case, the Holy Spirit saying plainly “Set aside Saul and Barnabas for the work.”

Jimmy Humphrey [03/07/2016 5:24 AM]
Gosh, this was such a fake interpretation.

Troy Day [03/07/2016 5:26 AM]
Good that the Holy Ghost is still addressing tobacco addicts in a so real way http://www.pentecostaltheology.com/growing-challenge-should-christian-ministers-vape/

Terry Wiles [03/07/2016 8:03 AM]
Be careful guys. These documents were born out of the hearts of people who were sincerely seeking God’s guidance.

Stan Wayne [03/07/2016 8:29 AM]
Zeal is not enough – it must be mixed with knowledge or abuse results

Charles Page [03/07/2016 10:32 AM]
doubtfully the last three sentences are not a part of the message but a rider clause added from zeal. Good intentions but not inspired by the Spirit.

Terry Wiles [03/07/2016 10:43 AM]
As an interpretation it does not fit the direction of communication set forth in 1 Corinthians 14.

Link Hudson [03/07/2016 11:54 AM]
So do you believe that the Lord really said that you can’t use tobacco and be a part of the Lord’s fold?

Stan Wayne [03/07/2016 12:05 PM]
No

Stan Wayne [03/07/2016 12:07 PM]
Cultural holiness 19th/20th Century moraes

Link Hudson [03/07/2016 1:01 PM]
What does that say about interpretations of tongues in the GA during that era, discernment of believers, etc.?

Stan Wayne [03/07/2016 1:08 PM]
Not good – shows that emotions and preconceived notions ruled – interpretation discernment prophecy very unstable and hit and miss

Charles Page [03/07/2016 2:39 PM]
What about the tongues given by Jan Lowery and interpreted by Kenneth Copeland at the “passing the mantle” from T. L. Lowery to his son, Steve Lowery at North Cleveland?

Stan Wayne [03/07/2016 2:50 PM]
That is ridiculous

Stan Wayne [03/07/2016 2:50 PM]
This is not a doggone monarchy

Stan Wayne [03/07/2016 2:51 PM]
WOF is completely unreliable

Charles Page [03/07/2016 2:52 PM]
Stan, what was wrong with the display of the gifts?

Stan Wayne [03/07/2016 2:55 PM]
Invalid because Gloria is unreliable, is heretical, this is not a monarchy where assemblies are taken over by primogeniture, and it is too ostentatious and celebrity driven –

Where is discernment

Charles Page [03/07/2016 3:14 PM]
I don’t believe that Gloria was there nor participated, Stan.

Stan Wayne [03/07/2016 3:15 PM]
Sorry apply to Kenneth then

Charles Page [03/07/2016 3:18 PM]
Jan is Steven Lowery’s wife.

Was this a planned event or was it spontaneous?

Did the local Church, State and General church have a “heads up” on this?

Stan Wayne [03/07/2016 3:38 PM]
It is ridiculous

Stan Wayne [03/07/2016 3:38 PM]
There are no mantles – we don’t believe in apostolic succession

Troy Day [03/07/2016 3:41 PM]
Dont know about your respective residence, but here in Texas, most baptists chew tobacca as part of their low carb dessert diet

Stan Wayne [03/07/2016 3:43 PM]
Bloomberg wouldn’t allow it along with extra large diet cokes. 😉

Ever wonder why no one ever gives a message about gluttony since heart disease is a greater health threat
