Technology is a wonderful thing. It is so common now, and its uses have become available to almost everyone (soon to be everyone if Elon Musk has his way).
Like everything else, however, it can be, will be as it advances, and is, even in its current state, used for evil and nefarious purposes.
It wears the cloak of convenience, but it is a very dark and malodorous cloak; it reeks of the foul odor of slavery and subjugation. And most (including far too many Christians) are either unaware of that fact or are not willing to consider it as they “social media” themselves into a web of deceit and unwittingly surrender their personal lives to very powerful and evil corporations (run by people) that seek ultimate and complete control.
In teaching prophecy classes over the years, I have attempted to warn my brothers and sisters (Ezekiel 33:6) but have been the recipient of “the look,” which some of us who share the awareness of these things are, unfortunately, quite familiar with.
Welcome to my web, says the spider to the fly.
Most of us are familiar with its everyday convenience and usefulness. But not everyone — in fact, far too few are cognizant of its para-evil and outright evil uses.
Worse, they are unaware of just how much it is already in use and what the plans of evil men and/or dupes of evil men are preparing to do. They are directed by an evil they cannot or do not want to see.
“Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac,” said Henry Kissinger. I believe that is true of secular humanists. Men willingly isolated from the Word of God.
For a time, they will be permitted by the Lord to succeed.
Most who study Bible prophecy and are familiar with the book of Revelation are aware of the below verse and the obvious implication that technology will both enable and be necessary in order to facilitate its ominous implementation.
“He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666” (Revelation 13:16-18).
When it is fully implemented during Daniel’s 70th week (or the Tribulation, if you will), it will be a force that is almost impossible for those who are alive at that time to overcome.
In the past, I have tried to make it clear that I hold the Pre-Tribulation/Millennial viewpoint of future prophesy, so I believe that the true, Christ-believing, honoring, and worshiping church (the Bride of Christ) will be removed prior to Daniel’s 70th week.
Having said that, let’s look at how that technology plays out at the present time before we consider that new laptop or smart TV or toaster (Yep, I said toaster).
Starting to think maybe I’m wearing a tinfoil hat? Nope, I’m afraid I’m not.
Spying/monitoring/controlling technology is being incorporated into an overwhelming array of electronic gadgets today (including, most likely, the Smart-meter mounted on the side of your house).
That familiar (and unfamiliar in reality) meter can be, and likely is, a Wi-Fi device capable of relaying your personal wireless router and/or cellphone signal, if it is programmed for it, and sending the data it collects to …???? That is why the “meter readers” from your power provider no longer have to physically “read” your electrical data. They do it wirelessly.
No more dog biscuits or dog bites; instead, perhaps, you are the one being bitten.
Your laptop, smartphone, or handy-dandy little “helper” sitting on your coffee table (anything that uses wireless technology or has a built-in Wi-Fi capability) really isn’t “yours” at all. You are just the person who finances it.
Here is an example for you to see for yourself. Don’t think it isn’t happening here:
I would suggest that, before you gleefully buy that really neat gadget to show your friends, or make your life oh so much more convenient or to save you time, or perhaps decide what your home’s internal temperature is going to be for you (or in spite of you), or even turn your refrigerator on…or…off, whether you like it or not…
You may want to consider this old yet very wise quote by one of our founders.
“Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!” – Patrick Henry.
It is noteworthy that he, along with the balance of the founders of this country, were intimately familiar with tyranny and subjugation and the resulting degradation and hopelessness they had witnessed taking place under the British King George III.
It’s also worth noting that this wisdom, learned the very hard way, is under severe attack today by a generation that has fallen under the spell of powers that they do not, and do not want, to understand. I wonder why that is…?
Actually (and unfortunately), I don’t wonder. I know why that is.
In this world, wisdom is always under attack.
Since the timing of the Rapture of the church is not specific, we do not know and are cautioned not to try to guess (for that is what it would be) the exact date, but only be cognizant of the “season.” So, in turn, we cannot know how much general “tribulation” (with a small “t” – not to be confused with The Seven-year Tribulation of Revelation) we will have to endure before the Lord acts to remove us.
Let’s consider the many ways technology is being used in the fog of everyday existence today. This will be a very short list that is designed to get you, who are willing, to raise your level of situational awareness and engage your intellect.
- Smartphone tracking: Your location, browsing history, and depending on what uses you make of it, your purchases and banking. All being carefully analyzed. Not to mention that, as I understand it, every conversation is being recorded.
- Computer (which is what a smartphone really is) usage. Same as above.
- GPS vehicle “convenience,” real-time location of you and your vehicle.
- Desktop “helpers.” Ask it a question and “poof,” instant answers (which take into account all your other wireless activities). So, your answer could conceivably be “contrived,” “not wholly in line with reality and…Truth.
- All these devices are (very likely, or soon, will be) able to be turned on remotely – and – you won’t even know it! Are you OK with what you thought were private conversations being eavesdropped on?
- Social media (all types) tracking, monitoring, and banning/regulating/censoring.
This brief but certainly not all-inclusive list of all the possibilities should be sufficient to get you pondering them. What is convenience, etc., worth to you?
Can “they” do all these things now?
“They” are doing all these things now and likely much more that we have no idea of.
How many of these things can you do without?
Let me ask you a couple of “f’rinstance” questions:
- What do you suppose you would do if your smartphone died and you had to call someone for help who you were used to dialing up from your now inoperable call list? You could maybe borrow a phone, but what is their actual number?
- What do you suppose you would do if your GPS ability (be it cell phone or other GPS device) suddenly ceased to function and you are far from home? Would you have acquired a road map before leaving on your trip? Would you know how to read one?
Just as food for thought, to get your mind working:
Did you know that you can disable the function of a smartphone (or any cell phone), whether it is on or off, by simply wrapping it in tinfoil?
There are products available that you can put these devices in that will accomplish the same task and may also offer some degree of cushioning/protection. These are commonly referred to as Faraday bags. They are widely available online.
You can also block the function of a personal (a subjective term) Wi-Fi router, or make it so that it only works directionally, by making a shield with cardboard wrapped with tinfoil and placing that homemade shield between it and what you want to restrict it from “hearing.” Try it by making one and putting it between it and your computer. If your signal drops out, you will see that it might work for blocking the signal to or from your “Smartmeter.” It isn’t 100% foolproof, but oftentimes it will work. You will need to experiment. Cell phone signals and Wi-Fi are very highly directional and, thereby, their directional functionality somewhat controllable.
Just as a quick thought: How many people that you see (especially young people) have their faces stuck in a smartphone screen? Are you one of them?
I recently was at a restaurant and noticed an adult male sitting with two juveniles. They were all on smartphones, thumb-dancing their way along in blissful ignorance – of each other. Slaves to technology. Voluntary electronic solitary confinement. Heartbreaking.
Situational awareness cannot be overemphasized. I pray you, my brothers and sisters, will give that some additional careful consideration.
“A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself, But the simple pass on and are punished” (Proverbs 22:3).
For anyone who may read this article and has not trusted in Jesus Christ and, therefore, has no hope or peace in your life.
You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior.
It requires that you come before God on His terms.
And, what are His terms according to His Word?
- Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
- Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
- That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
- To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
- Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross.
- To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.
God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.
- No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
- No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
- Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.
If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.
John 5:24: “Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life.”
There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics, or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.
The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God with all your heart, He will hear you.
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
