Bill Stockham | PentecostalTheology.comWe know that there is a battle going on for the “right” to our souls. Our Abba Father wants to lead us to Him so our soul will belong to Him; the devil just wants to keep us from submitting to God!
“…God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” (James 4:6) [To oppose someone means that you are in conflict with them, so God is in conflict with us when we submit to the spirit of pride!] “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU.” (James 4:7) [He cannot conquer us if we continue to resist. As strong as the devil is, God never permits him to overcome the person who continues to resist him; he cannot force the human will. When we, in the wonderful name of Jesus, oppose even the devil himself, there is sure to be a SPEEDY AND GLORIOUS CONQUEST. He flees from that name, and from his conquering blood.] “COME NEAR TO GOD AND HE WILL COME NEAR TO YOU…” (James 4:8) [Approach our Abba Father, in the name of Jesus, by faith and prayer, and he will always be there – he will meet us at OUR coming. When a soul sets out to seek God, God sets out to meet that soul; so in God’s faithfulness, while we are drawing near to him, he is always near to us, why? Because He will NEVER leave us or forsake us!!!] “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, SO THAT YOU MAY LIVE A LIFE WORTHY OF THE LORD and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.” (Col. 1:9-12) [I join Paul in this prayer for you today; be richly blessed and MAY YOU PROSPER in all you do for Jesus today!]
Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that THAT WE MAY LIVE A LIFE WORTHY OF THE LORD EVERY DAY!
