It’s About Not Just Who I Am in Christ, But Where I Am In Christ
Not only does God’s Word tell us that the Lord dwells within believers, we are also told that we are in Christ, spiritually seated with Him in heavenly places right now. That is often described as “positional” or “legal” truth and seen as something we don’t really experience.
“... seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” Eph. 2:6
I was never comfortable with that understanding. The Word does not tell us that it is just a technical truth, and I take it literally, that we ARE seated with Christ right now. If so, then the more we can tap into our spirit man from this soulish realm (which we are most aware of), the more we can actually operate from this position.
TAP INTO YOUR SPIRIT MAN FOR THE POWER
If, as the Bible tells us, we have been given authority over powers and principalities, why doesn’t exercising that authority always seem to work? Could it be that we are operating out of the soulish, intellectual realm rather than from our spirits which are seated with Christ.
It is as we practice the presence of God, paying attention to Him, worshiping Him, communing with Him, that we are able to tap into, to sense, to operate out of our spirit man in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Yes, the Lord uses the words of our mouths spoken in faith with His power and authority, in Jesus name. But I believe we must be tapped into where we are in Christ, spiritually seated with Him in heavenly places right now.
Let us see, hear and speak from that position, in Jesus name, commanding the forces of darkness to come down, in each situation, commanding the weather to change, and even the dead to rise.
SONS OF GOD, WITH EFFECTIVE SUPERNATURAL MINISTRY
“You are all sons of God by faith in Christ Jesus” (Gal. 3:26).
More and more, as we see, as in a mirror, not only who we are in Christ, but where we are in Him, and act accordingly, we will be operating as sons of God with effective supernatural ministry.
We read in Ephesians 1: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ (vs. 3). If we are abiding within Christ, then we too are where He is. God “…seated Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principalities, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come” (vs.20-21).
Where the head is, there the body is also. “And He put all things in subjection under His feet and made Him the head over all things for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all things in all ways” (vs. 22-23). We, the Born Again people of God, who make up “the church,” have then “all things in subjection under” our feet, in Jesus name, here on this Earth, where we, as His body, are His hands and feet and mouthpiece.
