I put this message on Rapture Ready over a year ago. The article was to the Israeli officials. This article is about the message that I preached. I will be sending this message to the Israeli officials again, asking them to pull the IDF back when the attack begins. (God moves on the hearts of men.) I ask you to join in prayer with me that not one Israeli soldier will die in this GOG and Magog war of Ezekiel 38 and 39. They don’t have to die because God Almighty will fight the battle for them.

Text Ezekiel 38 and 39: When will this war begin?

That is the big question. It would be easy for us if the Lord set a date in the Bible as to when this war will occur. What are the views on this?

Before the rapture of the church.
Before the start of the tribulation period.
During the tribulation period.
At the end of the tribulation period.
At the end of the 1,000-year reign of Christ on the earth.
A writer in rapture ready believes March 2023 or March 2024. (I would not be surprised.)

What do I believe?

I believe there is a good chance it will happen before the rapture of the church but most definitely before the start of the tribulation period. Below is why I feel it will happen before the rapture of the church.

Daniel 11:44 “But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.”

Russia and China are troubling the antichrist already. The main players in the Middle East are Russia, Iran, and Turkey. They will not attack Israel until America is brought down to her knees. America and the United Nations have been fighting Russia in Ukraine since February 2022. Yes, I believe America will fall before the rapture of the church.

According to the verse in Daniel, there will be a nation from the north and a nation from the east that will cause the antichrist problems. Before he will be able to take full power over the world, these three nations have to be defeated in a big way (Gog and Magog war). China will be the only one left, but they will not want to fight most of the world by themselves. After the Lord wipes out this massive army, then, soon, the antichrist will have a peace treaty for Israel to sign with many nations; this will be the start of the tribulation period.

What is so amazing to me is how fast the one-world government is coming into play in our lives today. You can see what is happening today to know that we do not have too many years before the peace treaty is signed for the start of Jacob’s troubles. If this war occurs after I am gone to be with the Lord, it is not going to matter when it will start. But I do believe it will be before the tribulation period. Let’s get into the message.

Magog, Rosh = Russia, and the former Soviet Republics

Persia = Iran

Cush = Sudan

Put = Algeria, Tunisia, Ethiopia, Libya

Gomer, Meshech and Tubal = Turkey, Germany, Austria

Beth-Togarmah = Turkish-speaking people of Asia Minor and Central Asia

Ezekiel chapter 38 (three key players in this coming war: Russia, Iran, Turkey)

Ezekiel 38:2 “Son of man set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,”

Ezekiel 38:3 “And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal”:

In verse 2, Russia is the number one player.

In verse 3, if the Lord is against you, I’m telling you right now that you do not have a chance to go against God and win. What is so amazing to me is that over 1,000 years later, at the end of Christ’s reign on earth, Gog and Magog will go against the Lord again (Revelation 20:7-9). Fire will come down from God and will consume them. It seems to me that billions of people throughout history love their sins more than Jesus.

Ezekiel 38:4 “And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords”:

This is going to be a massive army with a massive number of weapons. We see here that Russia will have learned its lesson from the war with Ukraine. This might be the largest land invasion ever in history. Fighter jets, helicopters, tanks, artillery, and foot soldiers – all heading toward Israel at the same time.

Ezekiel 38:5 “Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet”:

Ezekiel 38:6 “Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.”

Verses 6, 8, 9, and 15 say, “and many people with thee” This might be the largest invasion force to ever come together in one place. Look at verse nine.

Ezekiel 38:9 “Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.”

I believe that, in the enemies’ hearts, they believe they will win this war. All of the leaders in this attack on Israel cannot wait to get the spoils of war.

Ezekiel 38:10 “Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought”:

Ezekiel 38:11 “And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,”

In their hearts, they think that with this massive army, they can finally destroy Israel. They might say what the leaders have said: “we will wipe them off of the face of the earth.” Can you imagine how many people from around the world will feel the same way? How many people will start working on the parties they will have over the destruction of Israel? What a shock that will be when God comes to Israel’s defense.

Verse 12 says why they will attack. “To take a spoil and to take a prey.” Israel is the richest nation on the face of the earth. All of these nations need money.

Ezekiel 38:15 “And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army”:

Ezekiel 38:16 “And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.”

Verse 16: Why is the Lord doing this? “that the heathen may know me.” God revealed himself to the world through Egypt. Now, in the last days, he will reveal himself to the world through this Gog and Magog war.

Ezekiel 38:18 “And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face.”

Don’t mess with Israel. If you want to make God really mad at you, go against Israel. This will not go well with you or your family.

Ezekiel 38:19 “For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel”;

Ezekiel 38:20 “So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.”

Ezekiel 38:21 “And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.”

Ezekiel 38:22 “And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.”

Through these verses, we see how God fights for Israel. This is so amazing to me. This army does not even have a chance to fight; many of them will be killing each other. I am so thankful that we are on the winning side. Christians, it is time to live your life like you are on the winning side.

Ezekiel 38:23 “Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.”

Almighty God reveals himself to the world. I wonder how many people from around the world will see this and turn to Christ.

Ezekiel 39

Ezekiel 39:1 “Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal”:

Ezekiel 39:2 “And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel”:

Ezekiel 39:3 “And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.”

Ezekiel 39:4 “Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.”

Ezekiel 39:5 “Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.”

Ezekiel 39:6 “And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.”

Ezekiel 39:7 “So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.”

Ezekiel 39:8 “Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.”

Ezekiel 39:9 “And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years”:

Verse 2: 85% of this army will be destroyed in the mountains of Israel. This army will be wiped out. This will lead to these nations that are involved being so weak that they will not even be able to defend themselves.

Verse 3: What weaponry can go against God Almighty? The Devil is such a goodlier that he will fool all of them so that they will win. I believe he has himself convinced that he will win.

Verse 4: The birds and beasts will have a feast. It does not even go well for the heathens’ dead bodies. On the day of Judgment, their bodies will be resurrected (Revelation 20:13).

Verse 6: God will send fire on Magog. This will weaken Russia even more.

Verse 7: Jesus reveals himself to the world. One of his names is the Holy One of Israel. This is such a wonderful verse to me. It is no secret to the world who God is and what he has done for mankind. The world loves their sin more than Jesus. They have chosen hell over heaven. They have chosen their sin over Jesus. There will come a day of reckoning for the lost; not one person will get away from the wrath of God. I look at today’s world, and it seems to me that evil is getting away with everything. The justice of God is slow, but it is sure.

Verse 8: This war is final and complete. When God speaks, things begin to happen. The same mouth that created is the same mouth that destroys the enemy.

Verses 12-16 are about the cleansing of the land. It will take 7 months to bury the dead.

Conclusion (2 Kings 6:13-17)

2 Kings 6:13 “And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.”

2 Kings 6:14 “Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.”

2 Kings 6:15 “And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?”

2 Kings 6:16 “And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”

2 Kings 6:17 “And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.”

The enemy has surrounded Elisha, and the young man believes they will die. But this is what Elisha said to him: “Fear not; they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” Thank you, Jesus.

In verse 17, He asked the Lord to open the eyes of the young man, and so the Lord did. The army that was behind them was huge. The easiest thing to do is have fear in our lives, but we don’t have to. The army behind us is far bigger than the army in front of us. This is so comforting to me right now. With all we are facing ahead of us, we can still have peace in our hearts to know that the Lord will see us through it all.
