| PentecostalTheology.comHas there been a published version of the Bible where the text was ordered in the order it is best assumed that it was written?I’m not interested in a version that is ordered in a chronological sense from the perspective of…

I don’t think so. The TANAKH (Jewish Publication Society) has them in order of when the books were admitted into the Jewish canon. That would be pretty close to the order of each book’s final redaction/edit.

Some Bibles, like the Tree Of Life Version, have restored the original order of the books in the Hebrew Bible (“Old Testament”), but I am not so sure that any has done the books in a truly “chronological” order. I have always heard, for example, that Job is the oldest book chronologically in The Bible, so that would mean that it should be the first book in The Bible if you are looking for true chronological order, assuming Job really is the oldest.

The Tanakh has the order that closely matches the order that the Old Testament books were admitted into the Hebrew canon. That order is pretty close to the order in which the books reached their final redactions.
