| PentecostalTheology.comSomeone asked “how do you get results in prayer?” My response may be helpful to others:
“Brother, you must be hungry for God and make prayer your very lifestyle. Prayer is simply spending time and communing with God.
“When we are told to pray continually, it isn’t saying repetitive memorized prayers, it is maintaining an awareness of God in our lives at all times. When we sense His presence, we can hear His still small voice in our hearts for Him to encourage, exhort, lead and guide us.
“I find just praying quietly in the spirit in other tongues as I go about my daily routine in very helpful. Also, meditating on His goodness, His love, His promises. Speaking God’s Word aloud when alone, builds faith to receive the victory that He has for us in this life.
“When I live like this, everything goes well and there is answered prayer without even asking. He is faithful and knows our hearts. There are times, of course, when we ask. His Word says ‘ask and you shall receive.’ But, receiving often depends on our expectation, living a faith-filled life.
“The key is putting our relationship with God in Jesus first, not ourselves or our needs. ‘But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well‘ (Matt. 6:33). To seek the kingdom we must seek the King. ‘Seek and you shall find.’ To seek His righteous is seeking to know better His righteousness that has been placed in your new creation spirit.”
