| PentecostalTheology.comNOW IS THE TIME TO COME OUT OF COMPLACENCY
[The world is changing, and God’s people must choose to remain complacent no longer. This powerful message that the Lord gave me several years ago is even more true today – Ray]:
The Lord is Calling His People Out of Complacency to be Consecrated to Him ~ Ray E Horton
For the last few years, the Lord has been laying on my heart that He is calling His people out of complacency into a renewed consecration to Him. I’ve felt a sense of urgency in the spiritual realm. We are being called to rest in Him and let Him live through us, but so many are still not there yet.
Since then I have been seeing spiritual growth in the Body of Christ and a renewed dedication in many lives to prayer and being led by the Spirit. Yet, the change seems to be coming so slowly. God’s will and plan doesn’t happen automatically, for we have a part to play. Will you take His call seriously to trust Him completely and step into your destiny?
The Lord spoke a word through me in early 2010. Here is a part of what I posted then:
“War and peace, a time of war and a time of peace, increasing war and increasing peace – We are entering into a time when the battle against the enemy is intensifying, but God’s people are growing stronger in the Lord, trusting Him and experiencing a great peace, yes peace in the midst of the storm. The Lord says, will you trust me and join the battle now?
”There is a renewed confidence within the Kingdom, as the people of God are pressing in, drawing near to Him, growing hungry and being filled. The voices of prayer, the sounds of worship are everywhere, and the people of God will no longer be restrained by fear and apathy, strife and division, selfishness and COMPLACENCY. The Lord says, will you trust me and live in my presence now?
”They are rising up as a mighty army of love-struck prayer warriors who know their God and live and serve in renewed hope. With strong faith and boldness, they are exposing and tearing down the fortresses of the enemy. The Lord says, will you love Me and serve Me now?…”
Then on a New Year’s Eve several years later He gave me this exhortation for His people:
“I have a mighty work to accomplish through you in this world, says the Lord, and I am putting aside man-made systems and ritual and self-effort for a powerful supernatural move of the Holy Spirit which will bring effective change in your life, your church, your nation and the world, says your Lord.
“Have I not been speaking to the hearts of the complacent and pouring out my love to draw you to deeper consecration? Have I not been exposing darkness, and bringing new light? For those who will let go and let Me, who will put aside self-trust and religiosity, I will poor out my grace in new measure, and you will be quick to draw on My resources within you to grow, to change, to overcome and to serve the Kingdom. Have I not been revealing myself in new ways? It will accelerate this year if you stay close to Me.
“Turn away from the leaven of pride and put your trust in Me. Be filled with the leaven of grace to be a part of what I am doing in the world. Work with me as I motivate my people to rise up in My strength to bring in the harvest and disciple the nations. Let faith arise as you read My Word and hear My Voice. As you choose Me, decide for Me and My Way, I will be all you need. Will you join Me in My priorities?”
Still Many Living Complacently
Many, possible most people who call themselves Christians and go to a church on Sunday, are living like the heathen who doesn’t know the Lord. That is changing for many who are waking up in these end times, but there are so many living complacently. Oh, they believe, and try to live right, but they don’t understand their magnificent destiny as servants of the King. It hurts to see so many good people just being good people when God truly has a plan for their lives to arise and let Him live through them big time.
“So I commended enjoyment, because a man has nothing better under the sun than to eat, drink, and be merry; for this will remain with him in his labor all the days of his life which God gives him under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 8:15). This describes the way of the world. For the world, all is vanity, so might as well live for the flesh. Jesus spoke about it:
“Then he said, ‘I know! I’ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones. Then I’ll have room enough to store all my wheat and other goods. And I’ll sit back and say to myself, ‘My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!’ But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’” Luke 12:18-20
Our First Priority
There is no more time to live in two worlds. The time is fast approaching when we’ll have to choose
Beloved in Christ, will you be like that? No, No, No! There is a great call on your life. God has had a special plan for you from the beginning of time. Yes, we are to faithfully work our jobs and support and love our families. But if our first priority is to allow the Lord to live through us, all that will fall into place.
That Day is drawing near and change in this world is accelerating. There is no more time to live in two worlds. The time is fast approaching when we’ll have to choose: All for Christ, trusting His love and power to sustain us and use us for His glory, or be left behind doing our own thing.
The Lord is doing a new thing, winding up the age. Let us all wake up to His call, spending time with Him, trusting in Him, following after the Spirit. You are a new creation! Put aside the lies and condemnation of the enemy and “look unto Him, the author and finisher of our faith.” Choose the life of Christ as your first priority and see what He’ll do in your life. He’ll heal your heart, give you confidence and boldness, and do marvelous things through you, not by your efforts, but by grace, if you will let Him by stepping out in faith now.
“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:19-25).
