Bill Stockham | PentecostalTheology.com[1. Let our hearts be FILLED WITH THE WORD OF GOD: The heart must be where the word of God is to be reserved, to be used in all situations! 2. Let our eyes BE FIXED UPON THE WORD OF GOD. 3. Let our tongues be actively speaking the word of God. 4. Let THE WORD OF GOD be the subject of our customary communication, wherever we are; especially with our children!] “Love the LORD your God and keep his requirements, his decrees, his laws and his commands always. FIX THESE WORDS OF MINE IN YOUR HEARTS AND MINDS…Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorframes of your houses…” (Deut. 11:1, 18-21) [Joshua told the people of God to take diligent heed to obey the Lord God Almighty; let’s examine the strength of this excellent advice!] “…be very careful to…LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD, to walk in obedience to him, to KEEP HIS COMMANDS, to hold fast to him and to serve him with ALL your heart and with ALL your soul.” (Josh. 22:5) [So, which command from the Lord is the most important?] “One of the teachers of the law came and…asked him [Jesus], “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” “THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD with ALL your heart and with ALL your soul and with ALL your mind and with ALL your strength.’ The second is this: ‘LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ THERE IS NO COMMANDMENT GREATER THAN THESE.” (Mark 12:28-31) [Jesus explained the importance of knowing the greatest commandment to help us understand the abundant importance of our Abba Father’s awesome love!] “Well said, teacher,” the man replied. “You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.” When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” (Mark 12:32-34) [Let us demonstrate the love of God today!]
Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that THERE IS NO COMMANDMENT GREATER THAN THESE!
