| PentecostalTheology.com“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
– Isaiah 53:6
My heart is broken. Just heard a young woman died at the event i was at last night. An overdose of “molly.” My friend and i were there in the cold and rain trying to reach these young people. We were there for hours. Finally it got late. I was soaked and freezing and shivering I had to quit. Turned out it wasn’t enough. The prayer was lacking. The preaching was lacking. It’s like trying to stop a train wreck some times. We are so limited. Only the Word of God and the person of the Holy Spirit have any chance for effective ministry.
We will continue. If “Insanity is trying the same thing over and over again and expecting different results” then call me crazy. You know when Jesus said the good shepherd leaves the 99 to look for the one, it doesn’t make sense unless you are that one.
Please Lord send some help, some grace, some wisdom, and some strength to turn the battle at the gate. Gracious heavenly Father comfort this young woman’s family draw them together, heal their broken hearts, bless their soul with peace in believing on Christ who makes all things new. And break the curse of addiction in our city in Jesus name.
This where I ask myself, Did they hear enough of the gospel to be saved? In those few moments of desperation was the Holy Spirit able to bring Jesus name to her remembrance?
Some of these places are hard venues for the gospel. A few years ago we had a hot day and i thought bottled water would be helpful. Especially with the dehydration of the drug molly, that includes psych meds too. But they wouldn’t even take a bottle of water with a “Jesus loves you” and a smile. They would throw it on the ground at the mention of his name. It was very humbling. I couldn’t even give away water on a hot day. Like sheep the Bible says. All of us. Jesus is our only hope.
