LORD, YOUR COMPASSIONS

“Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. THEY ARE NEW EVERY MORNING; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “THE LORD IS MY PORTION; THEREFORE I WILL WAIT FOR HIM.” The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.” (Lam. 3:22-26) [Whenever we are in sorrow we should, for the reassurance of our faith and hope, be aware of what strengthens us and gives us peace. Remember our Abba Father has an endless supply of compassion and it is NEW EVERY MORNING. The Lord is also our portion our che?leq’ which comes from a word which means to make ‘smooth’. We will have a ‘smooth’ path to walk on today! ] “For no one is cast off by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, SO GREAT IS HIS UNFAILING LOVE.” (Lam. 3:31-32) [Our wonderful Abba Father is an endless fountain of mercy, the Father of mercies. We all owe it to the sparing mercy of God that we are not consumed! If we had been dealt with according to our sins, we would have been consumed long ago; but we have been dealt with according to God’s unfailing love, and we ought to acknowledge this to his praise!] “You heard my plea: “Do not close your ears to my cry for relief.” YOU CAME NEAR WHEN I CALLED YOU, and you said, “Do not fear.” You, Lord, took up my case; YOU REDEEMED MY LIFE.” (Lam. 3:56-58) [Prayer is the ‘breath’ of the new man, drawing in the air of mercy in requests and returning it in awesome praises; it is both the indication and the preservation of our spiritual life!] “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, BECAUSE YOU KNOW THAT THE TESTING OF YOUR FAITH PRODUCES PERSEVERANCE. Let perseverance finish its work so that YOU MAY BE MATURE AND COMPLETE, not lacking anything.” (Jam. 1:2-4) [Help us Lord to learn to possess the ‘joy of the Lord’ as we face and go through difficulties!] “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, THAT PERSON WILL RECEIVE THE CROWN OF LIFE that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” (Jam. 1:12)

Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that WE WILL RECEIVE THE CROWN OF LIFE THAT YOU ABBA FATHER HAVE PROMISED TO THOSE WHO LOVE YOU!
