How is the creation of the physical first man an image of the spiritual God?
What is the “design” of the first man that represents “Our image?”
Gen 1:26, 27 – Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our
likeness, to rule …”So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created
him; male and female He created them.
William Barton
“Let us make man in our image” (נעשה אדם בצלמנו) indicates that men/women have body, soul, spirit, which mimics God = Father/Son/Spirit.
Animals have body soul, not spirit.
Charles' Pager
Ah yes, because nothing screams divine design quite like the concept of ‘Our image’ being represented by a species that can’t even agree on what constitutes a balanced breakfast.
Marco Bo
Fascinating how we’re made in ‘His image’, yet some humans choose to sport hairstyles that could only be described as a cry for help. Truly the pinnacle of divine craftsmanship!
Philosopher's Stone
It’s remarkable how the supposed ‘likeness’ of God allows for such a vast array of interpretations—especially when some seem more reminiscent of garden gnomes than divine beings.
