Who is he to produce a study Bible?
What has been his contribution to Pentecostal theology
What are his theological subject discoveries that no one else has seen to be inserted and bound in a single Study Bible volume?
I don’t follow Kenneth Copeland, yet he has the right to create his own commentary Bible as any of those before him.
Whether He has some new thing or just the Bible written with His comments
For the most part today I believe it is an “Egotistical thing”
I don’t mean this to be sacrilegious, but it’s like dogs walking around the neighborhood laying off their turf to let people know they have written a.bible commentary
Anyone can produce a study Bible, e.g., Charles Stanley, David Jeremiah, et al. Copeland’s “contribution” is comprised of integrating several influences (Hagin’s teaching, New Thought/Mind Science components and a misinformed hermeneutic) with Pentecostal terminology. This integration produced two things: 1) a pseudo-Pentecostal vocabulary with extrabiblical definitions; and 2) a belief system with an elevated anthropology and a diminished view of God.
based on what you said I dont believe you’ve seen the KC Bible yet BTW not Anyone can produce a study Bible I know plenty of ppl who have tried and failed majorly loosing their investment
Troy, I should have defined my response in more detail. Anyone who has adequate funding and sufficient material to include in a study Bible can produce one. In the case of Copeland, he has written numerous booklets and I’ve heard him state that he is living in excess of a billion dollars. That said, it isn’t suprising that Copeland would produce a study Bible.
He had a KC Ministries Bible back in the early 90s but it had limited commentaries; more of preaching guides or so. I suppose they were his own from his own preaching. Now are we talking about that Bible or a new one – I am still quite puzzled by the number 50 on the cover
Troy Day I’m not sure what’s in that but there is a couple versions with his personal notes I personally do not own one I have seen them at the bookstore
I now see it – has yellow highlights and is directly reprinted with his hand writing – not even typed 🙂 Gloria has one too as it seems
Kenneth Copeland Bible
40+ years of Ministry with sermon notes (front of Bible) and Bro Copelands personal notes and highlights carefully reprinted .
KCM Staff carefully took appart Bro Copelands personal Bible and reproduced it for partners and believers in general
Interesting. In the early days he talked about going to a Bible school for a short period. Then said he didn’t need to study the Bible because he gets his direct.
Who knows what revelations are in there. Better run out and get one.
Also early on in the days of Chrisma they reported on his trip to the Phillipians where he refused to use a translator because he said the Spirit will interprete to them. The news reports were that only those who traveled with him understood what was going on. Go figure…
is what I was thinking but had to double check Terry
After years of running from the will of God, Kenneth and Gloria packed what they had and their two children and headed to Tulsa by faith. Kenneth had no money to pay for tuition nor did he have a job. Kenneth was a licensed pilot and was unsure as to how he would be able to manage holding down a job to provide for his family and going to school. On the very first day Kenneth showed up to register for classes, God miraculously provided the money for tuition and books, and he landed a job flying an airplane for Oral Roberts.
Kenneth was learning so much about faith and God’s Word at ORU. He was traveling with Brother Roberts, attending classes during the day and listening to tapes from Kenneth Hagin at night. Although Gloria was not in school, she was growing just as much. She was committed to studying the Word for hours every day while also taking care of the children and the house.
I read a quote attributed to him in which he claimed Adam was as much like God as Jesus, and another where he thought when Jesus said “Before Abraham was, I am”, He thought “I am, too.”
While Link’s comments are not verbatim, he is spot on with his attribution. Here are the two statements he referenced along with their source:
1. “I say this with all respect, so that it don’t upset you too bad. But I say it anyway: When I read the Bible where Jesus says, ‘I AM,’ I just smile and say, “Yes, I AM too!’” (Kenneth Copeland, The Believers Voice of Victory, July 9, 1987.)
2. “Adam is God manifested in the flesh” (Kenneth Copeland, “Following the Faith of Abraham” Tape # 01-3001)
Russ I am not too familiar with his theology to be honest. I know he combined Oral R. and K. Hagin’s into his how to get rich ministry but as far as his contribution to theology I am not quire sure I know what exactly that would be? Hence my asking the questions
copelands doctrine (and that’s what it is, he’s picked and chosen what he wants to use!) is misleading many :/ .. he’s be ok in his million dollar plane though (scoff)
Tim Dalton have you seen Copelands Bible or him in the flesh? He recently spoke at a local congregation Excited for Pastor Horton and his growing congregation. His dad also taught at Rhema Bible School, Kenneth Hagin’s school. They are opening their new facility this weekend. He will draw a crowd, and some of them will stay at the church, that is one advantage…
yeah well known and way too old Does he still teach it anymore? Who cares? Not his original teaching anyway Copy/pasted from other from times before him

Varnel Watson
Larry in that case KC too has 2 study Bibles like KH
Larry Dale Steele
Or 3 a couple with his personal notes and the 50 year anniversary study bible
Varnel Watson
The one from the 90s had just brief sermon outlines. I still have mine. I have not seen one with his personal notes Whats in the 50th anniv. one?

Sad indeed!
Varnel Watson
which school did he go to? ORU or other? Kenneth Copeland Bible College officially starts in the fall of 2018!
Terry Wiles
I’m not sure. I guess that at that time it was ORU. It was very early on.

In the beginning it was an honest effort. I knew Strang. I agree that today it is something else

Troy, do you embrace Copeland’s theology?
Link Hudson
I just can’t hardly stand to watch Copeland for more than a minute or so, so my quotes or paraphrases are second hand.
Varnel Watson
Russ I am not too familiar with his theology to be honest. I know he combined Oral R. and K. Hagin’s into his how to get rich ministry but as far as his contribution to theology I am not quire sure I know what exactly that would be? Hence my asking the questions
Link Hudson
Did he originate the idea that Adam gave the world to the Devil and God couldn’t i0tneract with it except through human beings?
Varnel Watson
What does this idea even mean?

Just imagine suddenly pastoring dozens of Copeland fans. 🙂 I am not saying it could not be useful istry but it cpuld be frustrating.
