| PentecostalTheology.comHis Presence – Keep the Door Open and Listen – Ray E Horton
We are told that a key part of love is listening. We need to listen to our spouses. We need to listen to those hurting and in need (before offering advice). Is it any different with God?
An important part of our prayer relationship with God is to listen to the voice of His heart, before telling Him all that we have to say
“He who has ears, let Him hear!” We do have spiritual ears to hear God’s voice. And, an important part of our prayer relationship with Him is to listen to the voice of His heart, before telling Him all that we have to say.
Let us keep the doors to the secret place in our hearts open all day long, remaining thus in His presence to receive moment to moment direction, revelation, and remaining in His love, even while engaged in whatever we are doing.
With that kind of relationship,
We can’t go wrong
Remember, in His presence is the fullness of joy, which is our strength. How joyful it is to know, moment by moment, that He is with us and as near as our hearts, where we have left the door open to commune with Him.
And, He hears our praises and thanksgiving and words of trust as well. As we dine with Him on the riches of His Word and voice through the Holy Spirit, whose temple we are, we truly “taste and see that the Lord is good.” With that kind of relationship, we can’t go wrong.
“Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me” (Rev. 3:20).
