JESUS OUR EXECUTOR
INSURING OUR INHERITANCE – Ray E Horton

God has given us freedom and does not control or manipulate our decisions or circumstances. When we are Born Again, we voluntarily give that control back to Him, placing Him in the center of our lives, rather than our own will. That decision instantly transforms us in spirit, which is who we are, making us whole new creations, no longer sinners but saints.

That salvation then needs to be worked out in our souls (mind, will and emotions) over a lifetime, renewing our minds with His Word and Spirit, to not be conformed to this world and giving over the control in every area every day, inviting Him and letting go to let Him reign in us.

One but Three

As our mediator, Jesus is the executor of our inheritance, insuring that the new covenant promises that God has made are fully realized

Thus, we grow from glory to glory until the time He finishes the job in us, with soul like spirit and can present us blameless. Even our bodies, one day when we graduate, will be glorified, thus fulfilling 1 Thess. 5:23. Even like the Trinity, we are one but three. Our spirit is transformed now, in real time, while our souls and bodies are on the way. But He is outside of time and sees us as complete, with the fullness of the work on the cross.

Jesus died to bear our sins and free us from spiritual death, then resurrected and sits at God’s right hand to mediate and be sure that we receive our full inheritance, all that He bequeathed to you and me. As a mediator, He is also the executor, the guarantor of our inheritance.

Jeremiah prophesied the key part of that inheritance: “…they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord, for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more” (Jer. 31:34). Under the Old covenant, the experience of God was external, but in the New Covenant, we can be Born Again and experience the life of God on the inside.

As our mediator, Jesus is the executor of our inheritance, insuring that the new covenant promises that God has made are fully realized in the lives of you and me.
