Todd Bentley is promoting a teaching he calls “the secret place.” This is basically a new take on what the catholic monks knew as contemplative prayer. To be honest, this is a dangerous prayer model and we should be alarmed.

I like Todd as a person and I love his passion for souls but a theologian he is not.

Is Todd Bentley’s teaching on the secret place a Pentecostal call to the catholic teaching of Contemplative prayer? How should we respond as people of the Spirit?

I don’t trust Bentley, because he comes across as a really good marketer, like he’s marketing his teachings. However, I am a huge believer in soaking, quiet prayer

The author seems well traveled. Are you the person that wrote this article?

I don’t know why people are so scared of the quiet.

Mediation on the word is one thing. Just trying to sit in quiet is another.

Brother Ricky I’m still waiting for the information about the author of the article. No information was given to the actual content of Todd Bentley’s book. Frankly I believe God has spared me from alot of this stuff. But to the point. A little quiet never hurt any body

Meditating on a verse is different than just being quiet.

Yes of course love God’s Word. It is life and health to those that find it. And great joy to the believers in Jesus Christ. I only ask to remember the great “rubs” in the Bible also. Labor and rest in God’s proportions is essential.
“There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.”

This man is a cult religion. Stay clear of him. Look him up on the internet and you will see what I mean. He is dangerous.

O was in a meeting in Fenton Michigan like ten years ago. He was caught in adultery false teachings what ever you can mention. He was ousted out and went into hiding for years. So beware of him he is not what he portrays.

It was his meetings and he didn’t even show up at the last meeting. Had a bunch of women conduct the meeting. All the while the meeting was going on he was phoning this one woman. HThey were laughing and giggling and everything. Found out afterwards he was married and carrying on an affair with this woman that was conducting the meeting. That is when he disappeared off of the face of the earth for I don’t know how long.

Ricky Grimsley Terry Wiles I guess every 10 comments or so I will repeat asking IF anyone in the group have the tapes that Bentley was sending while in revival to other AG churches to teach them how to have a revival; which was the reason our AG shut him out… Does anyone here have the tape ? 🙂
