In Exodus 3:18 Moses is commanded to gather the Israelite elders, go to Phara0h and say “יְהוָ֞ה אֱלֹהֵ֤י הָֽעִבְרִיִּים֙ נִקְרָ֣ה עָלֵ֔ינוּ וְעַתָּ֗ה נֵֽלֲכָה־נָּ֞א דֶּ֣רֶךְ שְׁלֹ֤שֶׁת יָמִים֙ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר וְנִזְבְּחָ֖ה לַֽיהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ” “The Lord, the God of the Hebrews appeared to us and now please let us go a journey of three days into the wilderness and we will slaughter to the Lord, our God.”
But in Exodus 5:1, Moses changes the words when talking to Pharaoh and says “כֹּֽה־אָמַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל שַׁלַּח֙ אֶת־עַמִּ֔י וְיָחֹ֥גּוּ לִ֖י בַּמִּדְבָּֽר” “So said the Lord, God of Israel, ‘send out my nation and they will celebrate to me in the wilderness.'” Pharoah responds (Exodus 5:2) by claiming ignorance of the Lord, saying “מִ֤י יְהוָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אֶשְׁמַ֣ע בְּקֹל֔וֹ לְשַׁלַּ֖ח אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לֹ֤א יָדַ֙עְתִּי֙ אֶת־יְהוָ֔ה וְגַ֥ם אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֹ֥א אֲשַׁלֵּֽחַ” “who is the Lord that I should listen to his voice to send out Israel; I don’t know the Lord and also Israel I will not send out.”
In the very next verse however, Moses reverts back to the message that God had told him to use and says “אֱלֹהֵ֥י הָעִבְרִ֖ים נִקְרָ֣א עָלֵ֑ינוּ נֵ֣לֲכָה נָּ֡א דֶּרֶךְ֩ שְׁלֹ֨שֶׁת יָמִ֜ים בַּמִּדְבָּ֗ר וְנִזְבְּחָה֙ לַֽיהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ” “the God of the Hebrews appeared to us and now please let us go a journey of three days into the wilderness and we will slaughter to the Lord, our God.” This time Pharaoh doesn’t deny any knowledge of God but instead accuses Moses and Aaron of distracting the Israelites from their task and being lazy.
The simple reading of the text implies that Pharaoh did not know who the God of the Israelites was but did know who the God of the Hebrews was. And unlike the God of the Israelites, Pharaoh had at least some level of respect for the God of the Hebrews.
Is is possible that Pharaoh did not know that the God of the Israelites was the same as the God of the Hebrews? Is this evidence that the term Israelite and Hebrew were not viewed are referencing the same people (i.e. that Israelites were a subset of Hebrews)?
And if there was a really a difference between the terms, why did Moses change God’s message?

I follow it as much as I can. I think Putin is über paranoid. It doesn’t make sense for Russia to start any wars now. Their economy is in too bad of shape. I believe that Putin really thinks NATO and the US are planning an attack.

Soussi, these threats are not “empty” I was in Air-Space Force Officer Candidate Training at the end of the 1980s.To set the targets of ICBM is a piece of cake. from the start to “finish” one ICBM flies in 18 minutes. The critical info to shoot down any missile is the start place coordinates. Although all the Russian land-grounded starts are known to the US, Russian railroad divisions can lunch a missal from ANY location (off the railroads). I am not trying to scare the heck out of anyone, I’m scared myself if such a situation develops because there is NO WINNER in a nuked war. NO WINNER. Google how can Russian Air-Space Forces set up their targets in the U.S. It’s an opened source info.
I’m again, not trying to defend the Russian President. Nor to justify his actions. I am neutral but objective and knowledgeable on the ICBM topic.

It appears to be an “ordered” closure. I know many of their instructors personally. I know the previous President of the MBS, Peter Mitskevich, who is currently the Presiding Bishop over Russian Baptists. It’s a sad situation. Our own (Church of God) Eurasian Theological seminary, which I led as a Provost in residence from 2006 to 2013, has lost the educational license in 2018. The “ordered” pressure is in part because of the foreign funds coming to these Russian institutions. Foreign, means American. Guess what? Russian leader does not want to repeat the destiny of Muammar Kaddafi, Saddam Hussein, Eduard Shevardnadze, Victor Yanukovich, Askar Ackaev, etc. Only a blind won’t see these (and others) power shifts in these countries have been linked to the U.S. State Department. I am not accusing any entity, I am stating that the Russian President does not want ANY U.S. influence (read: money going from the US to Russia), including the innocent Christian theological education in Russia.

Look at India and Pakistan, the last couple of days.. they started escarmouches and showed will to fight each other. Yet, when they feared an escalation to broader war including nuclear
one, they stepped back and talked about peace! They know that using Nukes and weapons of mass destruction is a self destruction! Same thing between Russia and America. They will bark at each other and will end up fighting each other (a proxy war) in a third country.. in the Middle East or Africa! That’s the end of it. Putin is no threat and Russia’s economy is ill-founded (a joke).

Earlier, Bild reported that the Bundeswehr is preparing for a hybrid Russian attack on the eastern flank of NATO. The military conflict supposedly could occur as early as February of this year. The secret Bundeswehr scenario, named Defense Alliance 2025, begins in February 2024.
Russia initiates another wave of mobilization, calling an additional 200,000 servicemen into the army. Then, relying on weak Western support in the direction of Kyiv, the Kremlin launches a spring offensive. By June 2024, it achieves significant success, gradually pushing back the Ukrainian army.
