It is only good for Pastors to do church plants. Pastors like Joel Osteen!

John Kissinger [12/22/2015 8:00 AM]
Jimmy Humphrey I’ve expressed my humble observation before that many/most of these modern Charismatic “revivals” were just that – modern man-made events. Though, Lakeland may have not started with this intent, but its end was likewise. Sorry you wasted time Peter A Vandever

Peter A Vandever [12/22/2015 8:02 AM]
hundreds were saved, healed, delivered and filled. Not a waste. Angels rejoice over one.

John Kissinger [12/22/2015 8:05 AM]
Lakeland was real while at Ignite. Once it got out of Ignite it got out of hand. After denominational leaders withdrew support it was clear the whole thing was doomed to failure. George O. Wood, general superintendent of the Assemblies of God, of which Ignited Church is/was a member, issued a statement on revival in June 2008. While not mentioning Lakeland specifically, the statement cautioned against over emphasis on charismatic manifestations and miracles, stating that “Miraculous manifestations are never the test of a true revival. Fidelity to God’s Word is the test”. Sorry to tell you: George Wood was right!

Peter A Vandever [12/22/2015 8:07 AM]
Revival doesnt need religious approval. The issue at Lakeland had NOTHING to do with the marriage. It had to do with Todd tend to lean strongly on angelogy and that is when things got wierd.

George Wood is as dead in religion as a corpse at the funeral home. He is a step up from Trask but not much.

By the way, the very night that letter attacking Lakeland came out, Steve Hill preached in Lakeland and didn’t give a rip what Springfield had to say about it. ๐Ÿ™‚

so do you think such lack of accountability had good results?

Peter A Vandever [12/22/2015 8:14 AM]
Accountability in the modern Pentecostal movement is nothing more than the control of men. It is demonic…. you tell me where in the heck the bible says your “sentence” for a failure is two years? Peter sure didn’t get that…. He had 3 days restoration process and had a worldwide ministry a month later.

John Kissinger [12/22/2015 8:16 AM]
$15,000+ a nigh offering without accountability like in Lakeland is a sure recipe for organizational disaster and a sign for a moral failure

Peter A Vandever [12/22/2015 8:17 AM]
I knew about Todd’s first affair (many did not know) several years before. I did not mind. I know Parham was a child molester, Wigglesworth had anger issues, McPherson would get “kidnap”, Allen was a drunk, Frisbee was a homo…. God uses us in our brokenness. Only the power of the Holy Spirit can transform his family…. not legalism in the name of holiness.

Peter A Vandever [12/22/2015 8:18 AM]
We talking about the revival or the “ministry.” I could care less about the ministry as a 501c3. I care that people was being changed.

John Kissinger [12/22/2015 8:18 AM]
Righteousness is NOT legalism, brother, and it never will be!

Peter A Vandever [12/22/2015 8:19 AM]
Righteousness is our at salvation. Don’t forget who is righterous, not one.

Peter A Vandever [12/22/2015 8:21 AM]
With that said, I need to leave for the closest thing to Sodom and Gomorrah I know….Angeles City to check on our house.

John Kissinger [12/22/2015 8:21 AM]
yet, loosing Righteousness is loosing our at salvation. Hence what Jimmy Humphrey said in his first comment above…

Peter A Vandever [12/22/2015 8:24 AM]
Todd did not lose his salvation because of a little ethic issue….. to believe that, we would need to be saved every single day again.

John Kissinger [12/22/2015 8:24 AM]
hey Peter what did you just call “a little ethic issue”?

Jimmy Humphrey [12/22/2015 8:26 AM]
If they don’t walk according to the apostolic pattern, I could care less what is going on.

John Kissinger [12/22/2015 8:26 AM]
is the apostolic pattern a 3-day revival and go home? #didache

Can’t speak for prophets, but the Pentecostal message spread early on through many evangelists who started churches to serve as a home base between crusades.
