FLEE FROM WATER CARRIERS 2.

” Iron sharpeneth iron so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” Pro.27:17

“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.

But His delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night…..” Psalms 1:1-3.

The devil is always raging,seeking who to devour. He targets we youths more; he knows it would soon be our turns to take over.

So many youths imitate others;we carve pictures of great people in our hearts and live our lives like they live their lives,refusing to find out the power behind these people.

Worldly people are our role models; so called spiritual water carriers are our mentors. The holy spirit has left or he’s there but we are not hearing him due to the noise from these people.

We wouldn’t sit down to dig deep in the word of God in order to grow,we simply want to imitate big people.

We attend their programs to see how they relate and behave,then we practice their ways of life. Why did Jesus send the holy spirit after him? One of the reasons is to teach us all things including who to follow online and offline and who to listen to his or her messages.

For some of us our issues are different; when we visit some of our friends in water carriers form,we find it difficult to observe our quiet time let alone pray. Why? Our friends would feel disturbed. Yet,we sleep over.

For others,we could go out for altar calls four times in a retreat yet we keep going back to the water carriers; we then wonder how someone who gave his life to Christ after we did,is already wrecking havoc in the devil’s kingdom within a year. When we go out for altar calls, the devil laughs ” He’s coming back after reciting the poem as usual. He mean none of those words ”

True to his words,we leave there and go back to the common Christians who are not ready to grow, many of them are ‘churchy’,you could easily resonate them with Jesus with their ties,suits,scarfs,long skirts,and big bibles that it would take inner eyes to see their emptiness ; and since they can’t give what they don’t have,we all remain there. It is well! Help shall come!

And some of us have not seen our category; check this one out. When they stop to say “Hi”,they discuss irrelevant things with us. If they don’t tell you your attire is nice,it’s football. For ladies,it’s the latest hairstyle or the kind of guy you like to marry.

Perhaps it would have been better if we ask ourselves after those fruitless conversations” What have I gained? How has this improve my spiritual life?”

No spiritual talk. Nothing edifying. Just nonsenses. You do it to others too? We are in your category. It is well with your soul.

For some of us we just want to mingle with anything so that they don’t see us as S. U or local. We want to belong in order not to feel left out. We don’t want to dare to be different like Daniel in Nebuchadnezzar’s palace or Joseph in portiphar’s house.

When they discuss football, you want to talk. The lecturer has yet to arrive and you just join these people discussing sports and politics as though those are other ways to grow in God. Well,I don’t know what is right or wrong myself. As you can see,this isn’t my handwriting.

People don’t know our stand why they still invite us to join them in ignoble acts. They don’t know where we belong. Like the church in Laodicea,we are lukewarm.That’s why they still come and ask you if you’re the thief when something gets missing. Hmmmm…no stand.

If you don’t fall in any category, well the holy spirit will help us to reveal yours. Perhaps you’re not a water carrier or you don’t have water carriers around you.

Let those of us concerned raise an uproar to the heavens for wisdom to relate with others. That frolicking with water carriers must stop!

That the Lord don’t cast us away from his presence. That he may not spew us out of his mouth due to our lukewarmness.

That we may have a stand telling everyone we come across in our thoughts words,characters, appearances and actions that we belong to Jesus.

That we receive the grace to study the word of God and do his will. That we would stop deceiving ourselves.

That the holy spirit is not taken away from us as we are useless without him. That our lives may reflect God’s glory. In Jesus’ sweetest and fire_answering name we pray. Amen.
