INHERITANCE THAT CAN NEVER PERISH

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he HAS GIVEN US NEW BIRTH into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and INTO AN INHERITANCE THAT CAN NEVER PERISH, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith ARE SHIELDED BY GOD’S POWER until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.” (1 Pet. 1:3-5) [Are we hearing and understanding this: we are shielded (to mount guard as a sentry, figuratively, to hem in, protect) by God’s power! Oh, how wonderful it is to have the creator of all things, the only true God as our Abba Father! Yes, Father we are clay in your hands, mold us and shape us as YOU would have us to be!] “He who was seated on the throne said, “I AM MAKING EVERYTHING NEW!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I WILL BE THEIR GOD AND THEY WILL BE MY CHILDREN.” (Rev. 21:5-7) [The Lord God Almighty has plans for us, to take care of us for all eternity, how wonderfully AWESOME that will be!] “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that WE ARE GOD’S CHILDREN.” (Rom. 8:15-16) [Our Father knows, and is keenly aware of our needs! So how do we pray?] “…the Spirit helps us in our weakness. WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT WE OUGHT TO PRAY FOR, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because THE SPIRIT INTERCEDES FOR GOD’S PEOPLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE WILL OF GOD.” (Rom. 8:26-27) [To “intercede” means: to deal with in favor or to make intercession. Intercession involves taking hold of God’s will and REFUSING TO LET GO until His will comes to pass.] “And we know that IN ALL THINGS God works FOR THE GOOD of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Rom. 8:28) [Since we know our Abba Father always hears the Spirit interceding in us, because his intercession is according to the will of God. What could have been done more for our comfort in all we address to God, than to know that HE ALWAYS HEARS US?] “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all–how will he not also, along with him, GRACIOUSLY GIVE US ALL THINGS? (Rom. 8:32)
