Incomplete may take another year or too. And they came to A PLACE WHICH WAS NAMED GETHSEMANE: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.
– Mark 14:32

What ever happened to Gethsemane? That place in the Christian life where men come to surrender to Gods will. and answer the call. The place in prayer where men find understanding and strength. The place where Christ himself received strength and prayed, nevertheless not my will but Thy will be done. thats holiness thats sanctification thats consecration. thats the first love for Jesus Christ. thats Gods work and obedience. Gethsemane is seperation from the corruption of this world and being conformed to the image of Christ.
Gethsemane is the place our Lord was pressed and discomfited being in agony, his sweat became blood as he sought God. Jesus prayed three times. Returning each time to pray nevertheless not my will but Thy will be done. Jesus continued praying until he prevailed.
Gethsemane is embracing Christ the Rock. Falling on the Rock. Drinking from the Rock. Surrendering to the Rock, the cross and the offense of the cross. breaking the self rule, self determination, and self will. If you arent surrendered to do Gods will, washed in the blood of Christ, casting down vain imaginations and bringing everything into obedience you havent begun to know the great joy and victory that is ours in Jesus Christ and holiness.
Gethsamane remains one of those places where our Saviour prayed through to victory. His losing was our winning. He won for us what we could not win. All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ. Gethsemane, Abrahams furnace, Noahs ark, Moses brazen serpent, reveal Christ. The first Adam surrendered his will to the devil. The second Adam which is Christ surrendered his will to God. The difference is a just condemnation for sin and life eternal to whomsoever will believe on Christ. Peace.
