Bill Stockham | PentecostalTheology.com[This is a wonderful prayer, just for us today from Paul.]
“I HAVE NOT STOPPED GIVING THANKS FOR YOU, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, MAY GIVE YOU THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND REVELATION, so that you may know him better. I pray also that THE EYES OF YOUR HEART MAY BE ENLIGHTENED in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his INCOMPARABLY GREAT POWER FOR US who believe.” (Eph. 1:16-19) [Incomparably: Something that is so excellent, so outstanding, so unique as to have no equal, impossible to compare with something else, because there is no basis for a comparison. This is a wonderful prayer, just for us today from Peter.]
“Simon Peter…To those who…have received a faith as precious as ours: GRACE AND PEACE BE YOURS IN ABUNDANCE through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. HIS DIVINE POWER HAS GIVEN US EVERYTHING WE NEED FOR LIFE AND GODLINESS through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them YOU MAY PARTICIPATE IN THE DIVINE NATURE and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness…and knowledge…and self-control…and perseverance…and godliness…and brotherly kindness…and love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, THEY WILL KEEP YOU FROM BEING INEFFECTIVE AND UNPRODUCTIVE in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. FOR IF YOU DO THESE THINGS, YOU WILL NEVER FALL, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Pet. 1:1-11) [Never: ou me; a double negative. strengthening the denial; not at all:–any more, at all, by any (no) means, neither, not at all, in no wise.] “What, then, shall we say in response to this? IF GOD IS FOR US, WHO CAN BE AGAINST US? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all–how will he not also, along with him, graciously GIVE US ALL THINGS?” (Romans 8:31-32) [Be very blessed today knowing these beautiful promises ARE YOURS TODAY!]
Be blessed as you praise The Lord, KNOWING THAT IF YOU DO THESE THINGS, YOU WILL NEVER FALL! – Bill Stockham
