How many have group bible studies. They may call them that, but is the word really being studied and taught.

Troy- faith still comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Yu can see after your answer why bible study is important.

Joe Absher The case of ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of God…(a right hook..at you?
When a car is in a rut trapped it can still rev and the driver might think he is driving…
A discourse, discussion, a repeat of a subject on and on with no forward progress isn’t study…
Joe I have been listening and watching and I have seen that the vehicle is unmoving….the drivers are trying every kind of gimmick to make it move, from Greek to Latin and English, but .we are still in the rut..
Senior driver Joe Absher I am turn boy who wants to learn the art of driving and be as you….
      Bible studyyyyyyy!

It may be neat to revive the concept of small groups operating in evangelism and spiritual gifts. Recently, I have attended meetings with noteworthy people who could tell of major crowd experiences, yet had difficulty recognizing a tormenting six feet away.

A small group may serve as the catalyst or incubator for revival on any setting.

What about the Holiness Club and then the Methodist Society meetings with the Wesleys. How about the holiness meetings of the mid 1800s with Phoebe Palmer. This spread to the Holiness revival and start of Pentecostalism. What about Timothy Dwight and the meetings at Yale which led to the 2nd great awakening. What about Evan Roberts and the great Wales Revival. The Moravian 90 year prayer meeting which helped Jonathan Edwards and the first great awakening. RW had meetings but the revival from them (if you can call them revivals) pales in comparison. There is a difference between revivals and revivalism. Finney had much, much more effect on the country than RW and his mentor A Allen or Roberts etc. They all started with small meetings including the revival among the CSA during the Civil War.

You can no longer schedule a revival than you can schedule a hurricane Revival is a sovereign move of God study the Brownsville Revival and Azusa street Revival Toronto Revival those where moves of God

I schedule revivals all the time

      Nathan Ridgeway

I agree with Troy Day on one point — that I don’t put Brownsville and Toronto in the same category with Azusa. I personally witnessed the two more recent, only have read of Azusa. Had I been at Azusa, it would have to show more than the other mentions for me to think it a revival. Novel methods and protracted show do not constitute a revival. A revival will come to us in America when we follow what is set in 2 Chronicles 7:14, not before, not until. Fast music and loud preaching won’t get the job done. Neither will cute and eloquent preachers. Revival will be born in the personal closet of prayer. And I’m not seeing it.

Nathan Ridgeway agreed. But when it begins in our closet of prayer and fasting. It should spread the fire in our churches. Jeremiah , said it’s like fire shut up in my bones. He had to let it out. When we get that fire of The Holy Spirit burning. I hope when we sit close to some one. They are going to catch on fire to and we spread it all over the church. But not leave it there. Take it with us and see others catch on fire of the Holy Spirit also. Good statement Bre Ridgeway. That is where it’s going to start.

We do three days, but will have 4 to 6 services in those 3 days.

    Friday night
    Saturday morning
    Saturday afternoon
    Saturday night
    Sunday morning (both services)
And if the fire is really falling Sunday night.

      camp meeting or seminar ?

    • Reply February 27, 2019

More of a conference schedule with a camp meeting intensity. It’s basically camp meeting we just don’t call it that.

    • Reply February 27, 2019

so basically not really a revival right ?

Evangelist ✔️ extended worship ✔️ calls for repentance, salvation, baptism in Holy Spirit, healing✔️ connected to local church✔️ But it might not fit your definition exactly.

We have 2 (6) day revivals a year… the have been known to run 12 days long if God gets in them
