| PentecostalTheology.comGoogle falsely defines “alter” as the table in a Christian church at which the bread and wine are consecrated in communion services. Catholic? https://www.google.com/search?q=altar&oq=altar&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.171j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8
The altar call is an appeal in which the speaker invites attendees to come forward as a way of acknowledging their decision to follow Christ. Many consider Charles Finney (1792-1875) to be the founder of the altar call even though early Methodist used a similar approach known as the “mourners bench.”http://www.christianpost.com/news/altar-calls-are-they-a-biblical-approach-128611/

I agree that HillSong has an alter, they alter everything and repackage it to be opened at COG worship services. This does alter the personal altar call.
