| PentecostalTheology.comHe shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.
– Psalm 110:7
One of those obscure verses full of wisdom and meaning hidden in the great promises of Messiah . The Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour . In Psalm 110 we see the glory and majesty of the great Jehovah God speaking to our Lord . Sit though at my right hand.. verse after verse we read of his power , his dominion , his priesthood , his judgment against evil .
what is the last verse then that seems so small so hidden and yet so revealing .
The King of glory the Lord of hosts yet he stoops to drink from the brook . this is reference of the brook of Kidron that little brook that flows just outside Jerusalem on the way to Gethsemane and by the east gate . He humbly drinks from the common stream and is revived and refreshed . He bows the head of a man , thirsty and tired and lifts the head in power and resurrection .
Who is it that revives us but Jesus Christ . Who us it that comforts us but the suffering Messiah. who is it refreshes and lifts us up but the lowly Nazarene .
..praying our Lord give us a little reviving and a great refreshing . heal and comfort his people.
peace .
