| PentecostalTheology.comHALLOWEEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE JESUS – Ray E Horton
On my way home from church, I noticed all the houses with Halloween decorations, and I realized that many of these homes are of professing Christians, religious people. But, why would they celebrate the darkness if they have the light?
Not Just Innocent Fun
Many don’t know better and see Halloween as just a fun day, not aware that it is the high holiday of Satanists, witches and other occultists
Many don’t know, haven’t been taught, and see it as just a fun day, not aware that it is the high holiday of Satanists, witches and other occultists. Oh, it’s just innocent, they say.
Then I see in their front yards and on their houses, representations of dead bodies, skeletons, ghosts, witches and every kind of symbol of fear and evil. Innocent? Unbeknown to them, they are giving ground for the enemy of our souls to work in their lives and our communities.
Celebrate the Light
What we need to be celebrating is the light and life of Jesus, the light of the world, and His wonderful salvation that makes us lights to the world as well. He is the giver of all good things, so if we celebrate anything in this season, let it be the abundant harvest of fruit and other good food, and more importantly, the harvest of souls for the Kingdom.
So, for all of us that know better, let us show forth the light and love of Jesus, not condemning others for their ignorance, but loving them, praying for them, and when possible, teaching them.
An Opportunity
A good opportunity is when trick or treat children come to the door, blessing them with a treat, but also the Word of the Lord through a tract about the Good News, or just some kind words that will open the doors of their hearts to eventually receive the seeds of life.
Let us take authority over the evil that would try to oppress people and our communities in this season, and bring down the lies, binding and casting out spirits of evil, rendering the devil’s holiday of no effect.
