Where do we get the idea that the ministry of Jesus only lasted 3.5 years?
1. We can determine the date of His execution based on details in the narrative.
2. He was “about 30” when baptized by John.
3. There are only 3 Passovers recorded in the Gospel of John.
The problem is that all of this is built on presuppositions that could easily be wrong.
Herod died in 4 BC. Jesus was no longer an infant when Herod died but a “young child,” and this and other things place His likely birth in 6 BC.
If His execution remains in 33 AD, Jesus was almost 40 at His death.

My thoughts.. the motivation for the [attempted ] high jacking of Evangelical Christianity via Dispensationalism ; The Kingdom of God was established when Jesus was crucified and resurrected – the perfect sacrifice, ascended into Heaven, seated at the Right hand of the Father all power given to Him in heaven and on earth. The book of Revelation is the story surrounding that cataclysm and the Pharisees have come out with a tale that says ” look over here its all future and inevitable” to distract Christianity into a holding pattern.
