| PentecostalTheology.comI am a bit puzzled by the outcome in this book. It looks like Satan was right – Job DID lose his faithfulness toward God after Satan took away from Job all what God had given him except for his life (he "cursed" the day he was born (Job 3:3-4)). And in the end God had to appear to Job in order to restore his faith. Does that mean that the Satan was able to prove to God that Job was not as faithful as God thought in the beginning of the book?

Troy Day God did because Job stayed faithful to God.

Philip Williams Did God win or lose the argument in the book of Job?

Troy Day God definitely won. Job did not choose to curse God and die. Job stayed faithful.

Troy Day 1:11 satan says Job would curse God, v22 says Job did not. 2:5 says Job would curse God to His face, v10 says he did not. 3:1-2 job cursed his birthday…I don’t read where Job cursed God as the false prophet satan foretold. So, I’m going with God being correct.
