I know what you are saying, Peter. My first serious study Bible was a Scofield and the notes of Scofield are cessationist, same with Larkin, the extreme dispensationist. The Primitive Baptist are most all Historical Premennialist. Majority of Calvinist are pre-mil
All these are cessationist with a few exceptions. The only river of life they hold to are the exegeted Sunday sermons that are preached.
Whatever eschatological view Pentecostal hold should be one different than what has been adopted. Maybe post-millennial, IDK
I have always thought it was a strange mix – strange bed-fellows.
