Bill Stockham | PentecostalTheology.com“A person may think their own ways are right, but THE LORD WEIGHS THE HEART.” (Pro. 21:2) [We may be likely to judge ourselves too favorably, our choices in life and the way we take to live our lives; we may think too favorably of our own selves, as if there was nothing inappropriate in it: Every way of a man, is right in his own eyes. The proud heart is very ingenious in putting a rational face upon an unwholesome matter, and in making it appear right! The Lord weighs or measurers our heart, He sees our motives!] “To DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND JUST is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.” (Pro. 21:3) [Many people deceive themselves with the arrogance that, if they give a good offering or make some “religious” sacrifice, that will excuse them from doing righteousness!] “All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but MOTIVES ARE WEIGHED BY THE LORD.” (Pro. 16:2) [The Lord knows the intentions of our hearts and what kind of motivation we need to do what is right!] “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and HE WILL ESTABLISH YOUR PLANS.” (Pro. 16:3) [Oh to be satisfied that all things in our lives will work together for good. The only way to have our ways work together for good is to commit our ways to the Lord!] “Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. COMMIT YOUR WAY TO THE LORD; TRUST IN HIM, and he will act.” (Psa. 37:4-5) [“Delight” is a word that means something that brings great pleasure and extreme satisfaction. So when we learn to delight ourselves in the Lord we find that He knows how just how to being that extreme satisfaction and great pleasure into our lives!] “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to FILL YOU WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIS WILL through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and PLEASE HIM IN EVERY WAY: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has QUALIFIED YOU TO SHARE IN THE INHERITANCE OF HIS HOLY PEOPLE in the kingdom of light.” (Col. 1:9-12)
Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that GOD WILL FILL US WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIS WILL! -Bill Stockham
