I just saw a miracle

A dozen students suddenly sober

I just saw a miracle. A dozen mighty miracles. A dozen students suddenly sober. The once drunk suddenly became sober young people.
I walked a few miles, praying, looking, quoting scriptures. I stopped at the old tavern. They were all inside. Nothing. The strip joint. Nothing. Two dope spots. They were to dangerous. No streets light and I was alone. Never thought I’d say that. But it was to dangerous. Another mile to the campus.
I was on the corner asking for a verse. There they came a dozen college students. Yelling dancing cheering stumbling and falling down. I was thinking of Proverbs 20:1
“Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.” But I didn’t want to rail on them. They were drunk wouldn’t have been effective anyways. Plus my spirit wasn’t right.
When they were across the street two of them fell down. They all stopped. They had fallen in front of the college police station.
So I went inside and told the police some students had fallen and couldn’t get up. It was the least i could do. Of course they came out. The one girl started crying. I figured it’s better for her to cry now than five years from now after she finds out she married the wrong guy. That’s the role of the law to serve and protect.
The cops put her in the back of the car and drove her off. They all stood up straight and sober and walked away. No more dancing in the street no more cheering for their drinking champions.
They will thank me one day. It truly was a miracle. Suddenly they were all sober. Kind of like a divine wind. Not like the blowing down kind. This blowing made them stand not fall.

    Joe Absher

We could use a few sober miracles in the pulpit as most of them are drunk with their position and the love of money
