Somebody who is saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost cannot have a demon because the Holy Spirit dwells within them. Now, a Christian can be demonically oppressed, but not possessed.

No, a believer cannot be controlled by any demon and remain a believer. What is missing in this conversation is the understanding that human beings are free willed spiritual beings and must submit to possession. Either by willing participation in acts that bring one under the direct control of demons or the direct invitation to the spirit to take control. No one gets possessed by accident. In either case such behavior is clear evidence that the person is not born again

Brody Pope The Bible makes no difference between the terms possessed and oppressed in reference to demonization or as James L Alldredge put it there’s no Biblical precedent for the difference you are pointing out

the issue here is not christians being demon possess but the question of: can a christian have a demon?
