Bill Stockham | PentecostalTheology.com“Have I not commanded you? BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God WILL BE WITH YOU wherever you go.” (Josh. 1:9) [We must not let not the awareness of our own weaknesses dishearten us; GOD IS ALL-SUFFICIENT!] “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and HE SHALL STRENGTHEN THINE HEART: wait, I say, on the LORD.” (Psa. 27:14) [What does it mean to wait; “To wait for an elevator” that is an act of faith, the door is closed, push the button, and “wait”, like Job says, I will “wait” (yaw-chal’) to be patient, hope, trust] “If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I WAIT (trust), till my change come.” (Job 14:14) [OR is it as when we go to a restaurant, we want someone to wait on us, they must take our order, bring us drinks and food, they “wait on us” (tsa?ba?’) to serve!] “…the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to WAIT (serve) upon the service of the tabernacle…” (Num. 8:24) [Both of these uses of the word “wait” involve faith. That is not what David says in Psalms 27:14: He uses the word (qa?va?h) to bind together, to become entangled with, the Lord wants us to become ONE with Him!] “…He shall strengthen thine heart: WAIT (to bind together), I say, on the LORD.” (Psa. 27:14) [To those of us who are aware of our weakness, and ready to admit “we have no might”, our Abba Father increases our strength; for, when we are weak in ourselves, then are we STRONG IN THE LORD.] “Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord…”I WILL BE A FATHER TO YOU, and you will be MY SONS AND DAUGHTERS, says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corin. 6:17-18) [OUR ABBA FATHER WANTS US TO BIND TOGETHER WITH HIM; TO BE ONE!] “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about YOUR ADOPTION to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that WE ARE GOD’S CHILDREN. Now if we are children, then we are heirs–HEIRS OF GOD and CO-HEIRS WITH CHRIST…” (Rom. 8:15-17)
Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that WE HAVE BEEN ADOPTED AND ARE NOW GOD’S CHILDREN! -Bill Stockham
