ARE YOU AWAKE AND WILLING? – Ray E Horton
“We are living in a season of dead churches,” wrote someone on another page. And, another responded, “We have too many hirelings and not enough shepherds in our today’s world.”
We are living in a season of dead churches as the lukewarm fall away. At the same time, we are also in a season of alive churches.
It is true that we are living in a season of dead churches as the lukewarm fall away. At the same time, we are also in a season of alive churches. Many of the dead churches didn’t have the fullness of the Spirit in the first place.
In these last days, that’s what the awakening that has begun is all about, reviving all hearts and churches who will be willing as He pours out His Spirit afresh. In addition to the restoration of some dead churches coming to life by the Holy Spirit, on fire churches are on the move.
There is church planting going on all over the world of faith-filled, Word-believing, spirit-filled churches. Together, this powerful combination will bring in the end-time harvest.
God is Raising Up Sold-Out Shepherds
And God is raising up pastors, true shepherds and other leaders after His own heart. Many of these are nameless, faceless, heretofore unknown believers who have studied and heeded the Word, been filled afresh with the Spirit and the fire, and obey the call.
There is a Caleb generation out there of believers who caught God’s vision years ago, many in the early Charismatic renewal days of the 60’s and 70’s, who have patiently waited and grown strong and mature, now ready to follow the Lord’s leading in the taking of the land. And they are training up a younger generation of disciples who are also on fire with the Holy Spirit.
I try to keep the ears of my heart attuned to the Spirit and to what the Spirit is saying to the churches as I interact with strong believers on Facebook throughout the world, and this is what I am hearing. So, let us pray and declare it, so that God can have His way and Jesus can come soon.
“This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matt. 24:14).
