They started doing these as part of occupational therapy a few years ago at the VA. Sometimes the fellas with PTSD respond better. They also use ceramics, leather and painting. As a non threatening way to encourage interaction in a class setting. It is also called developing healthy leisure activities. Actively engaging mind and body and emotion can only be a good thing. Apart from obvious abuses of form and time.
Calligraphy of Bible verses would be better maybe. With a nice sparrow.
