An extraordinary verse. God showed up and God showed out. You got darkness in the middle of the day. You got earthquakes. You got the veil of the temple rent in two. You got soldiers fearing God. And now you got the departed saints brought to life again. The saints were in the streets. We could use some of that yet today!
for the believer its wonderful and declares the glory of God. The resurrection demonstrates his power, gives clear evidence of Christ superiority over death, hell and the grave. Its Christ taking captivity captive. Its the great promise of God to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Heaven is truly open by Christ his blood and his cross. The new covenant and his mediation.
The resurrection is Christ power and the final deliverance. The restoration of all things. The resurrection is called the blessed hope. The corruption of the flesh will put on incorruption this mortality will put on immortality. A new heaven a new earth a new body. Oh glorious day. Job in his suffering knew its promise and comfort. Paul in his trials knew it too. O death were is thy sting! The suffering and poor find their strength and comfort in its promise. All the saints of God look forward to that glorious day. The resurrection is the promise of God in Jesus Christ. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new…
Not only has the offerings become a means of getting but now the worship has too. Trying to create an atmosphere instead of worshipping God for one reason. Worthy is the Lamb!
