And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost and altogether such as I am, EXCEPT THESE BONDS.

Paul lost everything but he didnt lose his courage or his consolation. He had assurance too and great boldness. glorying in Christ, his presence and his good work.
On trial for insurrection and blasphemy. falsely accused, in prison and in chains. Yet Paul stands to bear witness and give testimony for Christ. his suffering, his bleeding, his dying. his resurrection too and his promise to all nations.
Paul, Apostle of faith. what a reflection of Christ work in the heart and life of a man. What a champion of grace. what an ambassador for reconciliation.
Oh that we could stand, and say with Paul, EXCEPT FOR THESE CHAINS God grant us mission and boldness. In our trials, and in chains too, if need be. That our glorying would be in the cross of Jesus Christ. His victory over death, hell and the grave. And his promise to all nations. peace.
