I have noticed in the generation in which we live that People do not like to be questioned (on a level below the surface, deeper than normal apperances) concerning their stances, opinions, or beliefs of any point. They will retreat and call it “not wanting to argue or debate”.

(I have noticed it a few times on this page as well).

I wonder how we ever expect to give a defense of the Gospel, the Church, or our Saviour if that becomes our way of thinking and the method of our operations. I wonder how we expect to give an answer to everyone that asks of us the reason for the Hope that is in us.

I wonder if we have become so thin skinned as to not be able to stand questioning. I wonder what happened to the caliber of men from the New Testament Church, as in the book of Acts to were they could handle questions and not only handle their questions but could defend what they believed. They did not just answer or defend, but they could contend for the faith. They could contend for the faith in expert fashion. I wonder of it was because they know who they believed, and could explain and defend Him. Men of conviction.

Sometimes their defense was considered agruing and debating. A good defense always is.

Acts 19:8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. 9 But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus. 10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

Acts 15:6 And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter. 7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

Acts 6:9 Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen. 10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

When will the Church get back to being thicker skinned, willing and able to defend their faith in the one in who they believe even to the extent we are considered agruing, debating, and disputing?

That’s because there is nothing beneath the surface

One thing that has happened is people believe lies from false teaching that cannot stand up to True Biblical knowledge.

Some believe they can drink and go in a post-trib rapture, when drinking is exactly why they cannot go in a pre-trib rapture Pope

Lol this is true. If everyone would just listen to me they be better off?

No, rather, people who KNOW THE BIBLE well don’t like to be questioned about “generational curses”. The Bible does not teach the doctrine. It teaches that everyone is responsible for HIS OR HER OWN SIN. The few times God said anything about the progeny of someone He was to punish DOES NOT MAKE THIS A BIBLICAL TEACHING NORMATIVE FOR EITHER ISRAEL OR THE CHURCH. But, again, “Pentecostal” “teachers”, always liking sensationalism, “new revelations” and of course a trick the cults use: FEARMONGERING love to peddle this doctrine and milk it for all its’ worth. Again, I can go toe-to-toe with you on this false doctrine as well, Troy. This is an invention of TBN, not real Pentecost. (It has also been used by the so-called “Shepherding Movement” in order to control people). So, er, no. in-biblical. Next!

BTW, Voodoo shamans and those practicing Santeria also use this tactic to fearmonger people. It’s sad that “Pentecostals” have to sink that low. Well, no wonder John MacArthur is out there screaming, “Strange fire!” With teachings like that, IT IS!
