are there any among us that feels that there will be a corporate revival in the last days? I personally don’t see it happening, nor do I read of one happening as the church says will happen. Just your thoughts.

I believe there is a harvest coming but not so much revival in the church. The church is apostate as a whole and only has a remnant. God will call people out of their deadness while the church carries on. In Rev JESUS is standing at the door knocking. This tells me the church has put Him out. But if ANY MAN hears I think speaks to individuals, not the whole organization.
I just downloaded Another Jesus Calling on my tablet. Can’t wait to read it. I’ve read other books by Warren Smith. Amazing insight. Because he has been there in the new age deception.

I believe that the great last days outpouring spoken of in Joel/Acts began on the day of Pentecost and we have been living in that outpouring which brought salvation to the Gentiles. I believe the scriptures clearly predict a massive apostasy – a grand turning away from the faith in the final days leading up to the Day of the Lord. I believe that a spirit of apostasy has gripped the Church which is why we see so many churches marginalizing or completely abandoning times traditionally devoted to discipleship (midweek services, Sunday School, etc.) and why we see a general apathy in the Church. Of course there are lively, engaged, powerful congregations! But overall, the Church is in decline and I believe it is prophetic and will continue until the Day of the Lord.
Simply said, I believe that there is a sifting happening in the Church today. A polarization, if you will. I believe that true, devoted disciples of Jesus are being drawn deeper in Him and many others are content to remain on the periphery of Christian life, but when times of trouble or persecution come they will not stand. As I often say, “If you will not live for Him today, you will not die for Him tomorrow”.

I can’t find a last days revival in the Word, Bro. Terry. I do find that there will be a great falling away.

There IS coming another counterfeit revival such as we have not seen before with incredible lying signs and wonders operating under the spirit of the anti-christ. This revival will cross denominations which will set us up for the greatest deception of all. The one world church is in the making and the anti-christ is preparing to take the helm. We are at the very end saints of God! Get ready; Jesus is coming! Regarding the AG, there is a big split coming! I agree, do not follow a man or an organization; follow Jesus and His word.

There is coming a clear cut divide between the true church and the apostate church. Thank God He promises to cut the days short, or even the elect would be fooled; of which many are on the very brink of being fooled right now!

I have heard others speak of a split in the AG and I am not sure of what that is all about. Can you enlighten me? I have not been on this forum for long and am not sure what the issues are. Honest question here.

The divide between conservatives and liberals is growing wider and wider!

  • Reply January 17, 2015

It used to be conservative was synonymous with “AG”.
The WORD hasn’t changed. Holy Spirit power WILL produce a biblical worldview which will lean toward conservatism. ( heavily)

I know that in the last days that there will be many that will say “here is Christ or Christ is over there”, but we are not to be deceived. I basically agree with all of you. There are things that I am hearing and seeing in the A/G that I’m not happy about. But I am loyal to God first and denominations second. We are warned to be sober and vigilant because MANY false Christ’ and doctrines will arise and the devil can counterfeit a false Pentecost but he can not CREATE a true Pentecost. Personally, I believe one more outpouring, one more revival and one more calling out before the door on this “ark” is closed for good.

I would just say that every time Christ is trusted as Lord and Savior there the Holy Spirit is out poured. So it has continued, people are still being saved. But what is being promoted here is a 2nd Pentecost—no scripture to support the need for a 2nd Pentecost. Revival is happening in hearts–although I believe it is a drawing and repentance pointing to the Word, and will prepare those who will take heed for the difficult days ahead. Some are being called out, but many will refuse to budge—too much to lose in status, friendships, and even ‘ministry’ opportunities. I don’t care what evangelical denomination you are in, the avalanche of false doctrines has infected it. The leaderships of most major denominations are in agreement with these doctrines. They have been taught in seminary’s for years. Please be informed.

Been gone for a few hours but I do not see an answer to my question about the split. I am not arguing it but do not know what it refers too. I.e., what is a liberal Pentecostal? One that supports abortion? Haven’t met one. One that supports polyamorous relationships? Haven’t met one. What is a liberal AG pastor?

    W. Dickson, I can introduce you to plenty of them. I am an AG pastor myself. How about those who will tell you that if you believe that the bible is the inerrant, infallible word of God then you are idolizing the bible.
A woman in Washington State refused to provide flower arrangements for a homosexual wedding and there are those who say SHE is the one who is wrong!
One after the other are abandoning midweek bible studies and doing away with Sunday School. Discipleship has gone by the boards.
How about one in my area who advertises that his services are less than an hour, sermons less than 20 minutes and openly admits that he is targeting upper-middle class young professionals.
We have a sizable movement into Contemplative Spirituality.
There are some very serious issues in the AG. I personally know pastors that are nearing the point where they will withdraw.
    I could go on.

Thanks Eric. That brings some clarity to it. When I think of a liberal pastor I always think of those who deny the virgin birth, do not believe in the inerrancy of Scripture, do not believe in a literal devil or hell, etc. I can honestly say I have never met another AG minister who held those beliefs and preached them. He would not last long in our District. I have heard our GS referred to as liberal and I do not believe he fits any of these things or those you mentioned.

Really? The contemplative prayer movement was given a huge boost in the AG at General Council by Ruth Haley Barton speaking. George Wood defended it. This is the tip of the iceberg.

  • Reply January 17, 2015

And the Acts2 program in the churches is being pushed…purpose driven church repackaged. It comes from the top. The encountered21 has George Wood at the top, with other leaders such as Bill Johnson, Kenneth Copeland and Cindy Jacob’s underneath. Btw, Copeland and Rick Warren both endorse the Pope. Latter Rain theology is alive and well in the AG.

Was something in error preached at GC? In other words, what false doctrine was preached there?

  • Reply January 17, 2015

This verse describes what is promoted in contemplative prayer; in other words, false Christ=false doctrine. I Cor 11:4 “For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough.” Speakers such as Rick Warren have spoken at GC. He promotes a false peace plan. He serves on the CFR, as well as Tony Blair’s Faith Foundation. Choco de Jesus is lauded…but he served to garner votes for Obama in the first election. And on and on…

I guess before I would accuse someone of being a liberal preacher I would want to know that they have preached or taught false doctrine. That would be easy to find if they are preaching and teaching error. Otherwise it becomes guilt by association.

  • Reply January 17, 2015

    W. Dickson Jackson

I had never heard of the contemplative prayer movement prior to joining this group so I am behind on the learning curve. I have also seen too much guilt by association as men like John MacArthur use a few to tarnish the whole. Let’s see and document where someone preaches a false Christ before we accuse them of it.

I will definitely stay aware. I understand the errors of Latter Rain, NAR, WOF, etc. and believe no AG minister should stay in the fellowship if they do not agree with our 16 fundamentals, drinks, etc. It is easy for me to show you the teachings and writings of those people and see them for what they are. But I need more than a “this person appeared at a conference where this other person appeared and they have been known to espouse this doctrine at another conference so everyone associated must be also agreeing with….” Paul called out Hymenaeus, Alexander, and Peter for things they actually said.

    W. Dickson Jackson i think we need to define liberalism as it relates to the AG and not as it relates to the “church” as a whole. There are PLENTY of AG ministers that NO longer believe in ALL of our 16 fundamental truths. There are plenty that NO longer believe in the I.P.E., the rapture, the millennial reign, etc. Other issues have come to the forefront as well. Such as homosexuality is not just a sin but an actual sexual orientation that you are born with. In the “Enrichment” periodical a few years ago we were told to not try to change a homosexual and that article was written by an ordained minister. Our stand on creation has changed our stand on alcohol has changed. Mark my words, if Jesus tarries we WILL be having a discussion about smoking marijuana being sin or not very soon. A whole District brought an amendment for credentialed ministers who identify themselves as having the sexual orientation of homosexual, to the GP to be voted on! The GC had a whole session for contemplative prayer for our Ladies hosted by Ruth Barton? The list could go on and on!! There are some in the AG that are determined to change the AG!!! Problem is the leadership in every District knows who believes what and who does what but nothing is done about it!

  • Reply January 17, 2015

    W. Dickson Jackson

Thanks Andy. That I can understand. I believe we should dismiss ministers that do not hold to our 16 Fund and our portion papers. These are clear concerning alcohol, morality, etc. At Family Camp this summer one of our speakers made the comment that he had addressed as district group and told them that if they were drinking they were in the wrong fellowship. I heartily agree. It is immoral for me to take advantage of ministerial credentials when I do not believe the doctrine and do not support my District with my tithe as agreed upon. I joined this fellowship because of my agreement with their doctrine and history.

Having people such as Ruth Haley Barton at GC is endorsement. Having rock bands and tatoo booths at GC seems pretty liberal in my thinking. Pastors who stand with liberal lesbian mayors to allow transgendered crossdressers in female public restrooms without any noticeable reprimand and knowing pastors admit to alcohol consumption (because they talk about it on their group page that has leaders monitoring it) without being called on the carpet is pretty close to endorsement in my book.

I believe there are millions out there who think every minister is an angel of God or ftom God..
The other day Joe Absher asked a very important sensitive question ” Is our preaching mixed with the spirit of the world.. Is our gospel pure gospel?” ”
      He didn’t elicit many responses..
Who cares seems to be the answer..
Jesus said MANY not one false Christ will arise..
Many have risen and many are in existence promoting own agendas and having many followers..
      Who cares?

Franklin Graham is right and even more GOD IS RIGHT INSTEAD OF PROMOTING SEXUAL PERVERSIONS AND DEVIANCE AND PLAYING INTO THE DEVIL’S WAY WE NEED TO GRASP THE FACT THAT THE PORNOGRAPHY INDUSTRY AIDED BY THE ACLU IT’S FINANCIAL COHORT AND RECIPIENT HAS FOUND THE CLINTONS AND OBAMA’S JUDICIAL APPOINTMENTEES WILL GLADLY ABUSE THE CONSTITUTION AND THE GODLY PRINCIPLES THAT THE GOVERNMENT WAS FOUNDED UPON. WE IN THIS NATION HAVE BEEN FACED WITH THE SLICK DEEP STATE OF THESE TWO LIBERAL SOCIALISM DRIVEN POWER DEMONS AND THEIR UNDERLINGS. THANK GOD FOR THE INTELLIGENCE, THE FORTITUDE, AND THE BELIEF IN GODLY PRINCIPLES THAT THE PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE AND TEAM MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES HAVE SHOWN TO STAND SOLID WITH OUR FOUNDERS. ANYONE WHO DOES NOT UNDERSTAND HOMOSEXUALITY AND ALL OF IT’S COMPLEXITIES HAS TO BE TAUGHT AND ENLIGHTENED AS TO THE PREDITORIAL NATURE OF THIS ILLNESS. THE SAD THING ABOUT THIS DEVIANCE IS THE FACT THAT IT IS FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF MANY OTHER SEXUAL PERVERSIONS WHICH ARE ALSO UNGODLY ACCORDING TO THE LAWS SET BY GOD. ONE PERSON’S SIN IS ANOTHER PERSON’S PLEASURE IN THE WORLD OF SEX AND PROCREATION . HOWEVER WHEN WE BREAKDOWN THE LAWS OF GOD AND MAN’S LAWS THE SOCIETY’S VERY EXISTENCE BECOMES DYSFUNCTIONAL AND DEVIANCE BECOMES THE NORM WHICH LEADS TO SELF DESTRUCTION AND DETERIORATION OF SOCIAL NORMS IN A DIVIDED SOCIETY. WE ALL MUST REMEMBER THE PRINCIPLES OF GOD AND HIS DESIGN. WE MUST LOVE THE SINNERS (INCLUDING OURSELVES) BUT NOT THE SIN. REMEMBER IT IS THE HOLY SPIRIT’S JOB TO CONVICT AND GOD’S JOB TO JUDGE AND MY (OUR) JOB TO LOVE. YES, I LOVE MAYOR PETE BUT NO I WOULD NOT VOTE FOR HIM OR HIS PARTNER.
